Why duplo-ish blocks are not meant to be turned into marble runs
I was actually in the market for a standard market run when I came across these Duplo-ish block marble runs and was super excited. I thought that they would eliminate the need for a standard marble run and also make Duplo lego play more fun. I bought this particular set because it has so many pieces.I combined this set with the Chekue one Chekue Duplo Blocks DIY Toy Bricks Marble Run for Kids, Age 3+ (100% compatible with Duplo) , 36pcs also sold on Amazon. That Chekue set has an awesome orange chute piece that is shaped like a toilet bowl. The two set are compatible except the balls on the Chekue set are a tiny bit too big for this set. However, that Chekue set is visibly of better quality than this one.Although compatible with Duplo, these pieces feel more flimsy and the base plate is too flimsy/bendy unless you are playing on a hard surface. But those details can be dealt with. What cannot be dealt with is the reality that blocks (whether Duplo or Kengadget or another brand) are just not meant to be turned into marble runs. And here are a couple of reasons why. This is also why I give it only 2 stars.1. The brainpower and pre-planning time required to free-play SUCCESSFULLY with a marble run of this type far exceed the skill of your average three to six year-old. It was even hard for me to sit down and think through (in addition to shape you have to consider stability and how to build up inertia). The need to a parent to always "think things through" and help build leaves kids feeling dependent upon parents to play and unable to independently create/invent while using this set, or any block/Duplo style marble run. I'm okay helping my kids learn the basics of how to play with toys, but I eventually want to set them free so that they can build/create/play on their own. This hasn't happened with this set yet, and I don't anticipate it happening in the future.2. Also, in order to create the gravity and movement of a typical marble run, you must build up and that requires a lot of foundation pieces underneath, something that this set doesn't provide enough of. The marble run designs that are included are really not that stable and it was frustrating for my toddlers (aged 3 and 5) to deal with the marble run breaking AFTER it took so long to build in the first place.3. The two green base plates really should be just one big (and thicker) base-plate. It is just another thing to "think through" when building this marble run because you have to engineer how to keep the base plates together in addition to designing and building the marble run. Once again, this is just too much frustration for your typical toddler/young child.4. This set can't capture the attention of my kids ages 7-10 that long. Which is a shame because by then they are at the age where they can plan and think things through enough to successfully free-play with this set.All in all, cool idea...but it just doesn't work out in real play. At first I was so excited because the idea was so unique and brought another element to Duplo lego play, but it is just short-lived excitement because there is only so much that kids ages 3-6 can do with it, and once they hit 7 (and are more capable to design and plan like this set requires), it just doesn't capture their interest. I will probably end up getting a real marble run in the future, like Marble Genius. Maybe the addition of some mini-figures would add more variety of play to this set...but maybe not.I feel bad for giving a negative review because the idea and concept of this set is so COOL! But if it isn't a toy that a 3-6 year-old can independently build a marble run out of, then its just not going to be a success on the market and the designers should know that sooner rather than later.

Great product but misleading advertisement.
The kids loved the product. But what prevented me from giving it a 5 stars was the picture on Amazon said I would get 8 ramp pieces but the box that I received said there were 6 ramp pieces. The picture on Amazon also stated, 4 end pieces, the box said 2. Amazon said 4 half turn pieces, the box said 3. Amazon said 22 generic 2x2 Duplo pieces, the box said 27. So, yes, still got 73 pieces, just not the same pieces as advertised.

Look carefully at the actual quantity of “run” pieces...for the price it’s actually similar to Hubelino.
I purchased this item instead of a Hubelino set because I thought it was a better deal, I thought I was getting more “run” pieces for my money. However, once I received the set I realized the quality wasn’t as good but more importantly the actual number of “run” pieces was not as many as I had thought. My children already have Duplos so I was not in need of the “support” pieces. When comparing the actual number of run pieces in this set compared to the actual run pieces of Hubelino sets the price isn’t a huge difference. If you are someone who doesn’t already have duplo Legos though, this is a great beginning set.The set works great but Hubelino is better quality and Hubelino fits a little better to Duplo Legos.

My kid LOVES it.
So the little plates that you build on are kinda dinky but I expected that from a previous set we had bought. (No where near the quality of this on I might add) so we got the large "name brand" plate. My husband and 3 year old autistic son cam spend hours and hours making and remaking tracks. The work perfectly with the "name brand" blocks. Was the best spent 20 bucks ever. The balls are about the size in a small bouncy ball and have to be clipped together. This set had no problems with the balls. The size of of the blocks is duplo sizeYou should know...there are a few different sets out there. The first one we bought was half this size, three times as much and didn't connect well. It came from overseas and was in a foreign language. When buying I would look at where it's shipping from and if it's prime.

No instructions, but tons of creative fun
The toy itself is awesome. The only down side for me was that it didn't come with any instructions for ideas. No physical way of creating the thing on the picture with the blocks in the box, but if you don't care about that kind of thing and just want to let your kids be creative it is awesome. I got it for a 3 year old, so since I'm doing all the building for him to play with, and I'm a type-A follow the instructions kind of mom, so I was sad, but 4.9 stars still rounds to 5 stars. :)

Pretty awesome toy set slide
Pretty awesome toy set slide, but doesn't quite fit perfectly with the Lego Duplo blocks or itself, but pretty decent fit. There are some half size pieces that can be slightly frustrating for both impatient toddlers as well as impatient bigger adults. Overall good buy. As our kiddo gets older we expect she will be much better at using it though she remains very into using the slide bits with her other building blocks.

Not the greatest but it works.
The pieces are NOT the ones advertised on the pics or on the box. It's not the end of the world and we made it work. The pieces are difficult to connect together but it still does the job.
