feel safe with my hanging chair

I have a really nice hanging chair frame, but I'm making an assumption here - that most of the kits are like mine. I have no problem with the frame as far as it goes - it is sturdy and made to hold the hanging chair I have...BUT, the top piece, which is a piece of steel that slides through a hole at the top of the curved "arm" of the chair frame, and at the bottom of that piece of steel is a hole for the spring. That's ALL my frame cam with, but my chair has a central loop with a central, metal piece to make the loop section really sturdy. That metal section makes the loop too wide to slip into the spring's bottom hook. As soon as I received these, I took one chain and one carabiner - pulled the chain through the metal loop and attached both ends of the chain to the carabiner that slipped onto the spring just fine. It also made the chair hang a bit lower which was perfect for me. Again, if you have a hanging chair and a frame, you need this set!

These chains are very strong and are easy to install to support a hammock. They can also support other heavy items such as large flower pots and such or to restrain loads in a vehicle. I used mine around tree limbs and purchased 4 feet of rubber hose from a local farm supply store ( cut to the correct length for the chains ) and passed the chain down inside the hose before attaching the other carabiner and hammock mount ring, to protect the bark from chafing. Very easy install !

My application for this chain was to install permanent anchors in the ground that can be attached to an inflatable screen on movie nights. This required cutting each chain in half with a very large set of bolt cutters. It took several attempts to cut a link, a process that would have gone swiftly on the first try on most chains of this diameter. I'm extremely impressed with the strength of this hardware, and had I used this for it's intended function, I would feel confident that the chains wouldn't fail before whatever they were attached to did.
