The LS engine trunnion upgrade kit enables the conversion from the OEM rocker arm needle bearings to a bushed trunnion design. By utilizing bronze bushings instead of needle bearings, there is no chance for any small needles to work loose and damage the engine. The micro-polished hardended shaft has improved loading capabilities, and the oil channels ensure lubrication of the rocker arm.

Peace of Mind for LS3 owners
At 78,000 miles my stock 2009 C6 Base w/LS3 motor crippled itself after a broken intake valve spring, so when having my mechanic replace all the valve springs, I asked him to install the Smith Brothers Trunnion Bushing Upgrade kit, a recognized alternative to Comp Cams needle bearing upgrade, or OEM LS3 Needle Bearing Trunnions. My mechanic advised the new bushings are squeaking, however the sound of new Comp. Cams valve springs seem more pronounced & sewing machine like than these bushings, and IHMO after 1500 miles after installing themI don't hear any squeaking. My mechanic wrote it into the repair invoice that I could see brass shavings in the drain during oil changes. This doesn't bother me all that much, because OE GM Trunnion needle bearings are a know failure point. The Smith Brothers Upgrade gives me peace of mind. With a troublesome failure prone car that's turned out to be a major a money pit, it's one less ticking bomb to worry about.

Great product, would have been better if they included some high pressure assembly grease though.

It did not come with installation tools. Which are a couple of washers and a drift. The Comp Cams kit does. Also it does not mention that machining of the rocker arms is required. So taking them to a machine shop would increase the cost significantly.
