After speaking with the rep, Daisy, I now understand why this product doesn't work. It's a technical issue, nothing to do with the product itself. Daisy help me understand the problem which is too technical for me to explain in my own words. So here are some of her words: "usb-c port on laptop have two functions: 1. data transimit 2. video transmission. For usb-c macbook, it also has recharging the macbook function. So this adapter will work because usb-c port have video transmission function". Since my MBP doesn't have a USB-C port, I was treating the adapter as a I would any adapter that needed to be converted to what I needed. I used a converter to change the USB-C into a USB 3 to attach to my computer. But since the USB 3 port isn't a two-function port, that didn't work. Understanding the nuances of new technology is crucial, and the representative, Daisy, helped me do that.On top of all of that, she even went above and beyond the call of duty by helping me find the products I needed. After thoroughly reviewing and analyzing all of the information I sent her (pictures and connections she requested) and solving my problem, she helped me in finding to solutions! She helped me find the product that would work with my MPB! So, I've revised my feedback to reflect her exemplary customer service skills and her dedication to ensure that the customer's issue is resolved to his/her complete satisfaction even though the items the customer needs isn't sold by her company! Thanks again, Daisy, for all your help!Original review:Those who say this product doesn't work are absolutely correct. I just received two as I have two monitors (one for drawing), and neither works. I tried my regular monitor first...nothing. I plug the monitor into my computer (MBP Pro w/Retina), and the monitor came on just like it always does. I purchased these adapters because I have two monitors and would like to be able to use both monitors, at the same time. They are both connected to my computer, by adapter, via a usb 3 hub, and I got nothing. Everything else works in the hub, except these adapters. I'm extremely disappointed by this because it's everything in the description indicated that this was the product I needed. Needless to say, these have got to go...NOW!

I am currently using a Chrombook as my main machine at work and I have dual 2k screens that I work from. I have tried 3 adapters and 2 docking stations to allow me to use those monitors while being able to charge the chromebook through the usb-c interface. I have had nothing but bad luck, until now. I realized the main reason that I was having the issue was the adapters and docking stations couldn't support a 2k screen at 60hz. Disregard the fact that I don't even know a monitor that supports 30hz anymore I needed a solution. I saw on amazon that the Mokin USB-C adapter could support a 4k monitor at 60hz so I ordered it right away.When the box arrived I was extremely disappointed to see that the box in came in explicitly said that 4k and 2k monitors were only supported at 30hz. I about flipped my lid. But since I paid the money for it I thought I would give it a try none the less. I plugged it in and BAM!!! my 2k monitor came up without an issue. So I plugged the power adapter in and there you have it my chromebook was charging and displaying on both 2k monitors (using the built in HDMI as well).I would give this device 5 stars if it would have said it supported these monitors on the box. I am scared I am running unsupported and it may not work at some point. But right now it is working like a charm and I have no regrets. Worth every penny.

A great low-cost alternative for my Macbook with Thunderbolt 3 port and Samsung Galaxy s8. I am glad to have this little Gadget.After taking this out of the box, It looks a little bit smaller than the picture which is great. I plugged it in to an HDMI Cable to connect with my Samsung 4K TV and then plugged the adapter into my MacBook. My computer screen showed up immediately on my TV and that the image was great. I plugged my mouse to the usb port. There is no lag when I was moving my mouse on the screen. I also can charge my MacBook by usb-c power pass-through port at the same time.For Samsung Galaxy s8.There is no issue when you use it on the usb port and the hdmi port of this adapter. I will work fine if you use the right charger(PD mode charger). There was a charging icon on my phone when I was using usb-c power pass-through port, but my battery still dropped. I thought this adapter won't charge my phone. Then I checked the description of this adapter. It seems that this adapter won't charge my phone if I use my original samsung charger which is qc mode charger according to the seller's description. So I took a chance and try it by plugging my macbook charger(PD mode)to charge my phone. Then it worked! Now I can use my phone to connect my tv as a simple laptop! Compare To Samsung USB-C to HDMI Adapter $32, this is more cheaper and I also can charge my phone at the same time when using the others ports.Worth the money!

I'm using it in two different setups.When connected to my Samsung Chromebook Plus USB-C port, it works very well. I have a mouse and keyboard plugged into a USB hub and with this setup, I can use the CB on a large monitor with the CB open (extended monitor mode) or closed (Docked mode.My second scenario, the primary reason I am using it at this time, works most of the time, but every once in a while it takes a little finagling (meaning unplugging and plugging connections, switching the A-B switch between A & B outputs a couple of times). I am using the MOKiN adapter plus an A-B KVM switch to connect both the laptop and an old desktop to share a keyboard and mouse so I can switch between using the two computers. Since the old desktop only has VGA video out and the Plus has USB-C, I have two video cables plugged into the monitor (HDMI to the MOKiN device and VGA to the windows desktop) and do my monitor switching via the monitor's menus.

I thought the USB-C port would allow data transfer but it appears to only be for power pass-thru.It also seems you have to connect devices via ports into adaptor BEFORE you then plug adaptor into USB-C port on computer. Failing to do this in the right order means the device doesn't register and is inaccessible.This seems to be a retrograde step from USB 3 and before.

Good quality, works as expected. I use it every day for 8 hours at work and has worked every time. Can't ask for much more.

Does what is expected to do for a fair price.

The build quality is great, along with the aesthetics. This adapter has a slightly longer cable than the ones that come from apple, which I appreciate. The only small issue I found was when using the HDMI port with a DVI adapter the display wouldn't come up. This wasn't a big deal for me since I almost always use pure HDMI.-------Updated: this adapter was a great price and was working half decently for a few weeks. Then it stopped working altogether. I had another issue with my macbook's usb-c port, so I got that fixed first. The adapter still failed to work when tried on any port, as well as when used with other USB-c devices I have. I mean, nothing on it worked.I approached the manufacturer (Mokin) about the issue. They got back to me within a couple of days and said I had to send them a video of the adapter not working. Besides the fact this was a bit of an odd request, they didn't include where they want the video uploaded or what exactly I was supposed to show in the video. No troubleshooting steps or attempts to send me a replacement. I responded to their email asking about their request to record the issue and haven't heard back in almost two weeks.I really cannot recommend this adapter since both the actual adapter and customer service have failed so far. I'll be happy to update this review one more time if this issue gets resolved, but at this point I won't buy from Mokin again.

Great adaptor! Works excellent with an Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12. I simultaneously run hdmi, usb, and power-in via the USB-C PD port, and do not experience any slowdowns, hiccups, or excess heat from the adaptor. Well worth the money. The only little thing that can potentially cause problems is the space between each port is tight, meaning your cables better not be too bulky if you want to use more than one or two. Otherwise, this usb-c hub is a no-brainer.
