This was very easy to use and store away when not in use.

This is a pretty basic blade sharpener, but it'll do. I sharpened a kitchen knife out of the box with it and thought it had a good handle to hold it by and decent, grippy rubber pads on the bottom but I would have liked better ones with some tread for those wet countertops we all have from time to time.The coarse slot was okay, but it was so coarse that it was hard to tell when it was sharpened enough for the next step. I basically just pulled it through three times and went on. I could more or less tell when the other two had done their job by how the blade pulled through.It does a good job or sharpening, but is difficult to tell when enough is enough. It could use grippier feet on it. It was a little light and did move a little during sharpening. It's a decent unit, but only three stars worth taken as a whole.

I am embarrassed to admit that until after using this sharpener, there was not a sharp knife in my kitchen! Boy, were they dull! Now, I am afraid to use my knives, for fear of slicing myself to ribbons. This is a wonderful little sharpener to keep in the kitchen - it doesn't take up a lot of room and is easy to tuck in a drawer when not being used. I found the three different sharpening modes different enough to carefully choose which one to use when sharpening. BE SURE TO READ THE BOX BEFORE USING. There is a big difference between the three choices, so I have to be careful I choose the right one for how bad my knives are before sharpening. If someone just puts their knives in without discerning which one would be right, they could ruin their knife! I would like the sharpener to be a little heavier. But for what this product does, for the cost, is a very good purchase.

My poor kitchen knives hadn't been sharpened in a LONG time. Now I'm afraid I'll cut off the end of my finger! This is a nice sharpener. It put an edge on my favorite Wuestoff knife with only a few passes through all 3 stages of the sharpener. It's now very sharp. Cuts a tomato skin like it's warm butter. The grip is good and the unit feels sturdy. The only downfall I see is that when you drag a knife through, it makes contact with the plastic inlay under the sharpening section. It won't take long for that area to be trashed. I would also like it better if the base was metal so I could store it on my magnetic knife rack. Oh well. Not taking away a star for that. Sharpens knives well and that's what you pay for.
