UPDATE (12/18/2019):I see that a different light was (Currently unavailable) being sold under the same guise. Mine are wedges. They need to point down, so the attaching plastic piece is taped in that direction. The only problem with that orientation is that the light is easily knocked off its mounting plate. I wanted to use it for my brother-in-law who has health problems and gets up often during the night. I attached one to his bed to turn on when he got up at night. It got knocked off often, so I removed it.ORIGINAL REVIEW: (8/29/2017):My complaint with these lights is that they have no means of attaching them with a screw or two. The plastic back is flat but the light has to be pushed downward to replace the batteries if it is attached on a wall. The attachment and battery replacement is not a problem if it is to be mounted on a horizontal surface. Whether the double-sided tape is sufficient to mount it on the ceiling OR on a wall remains to be seen. When it is dark, I can assess the functionality of the light.

The thin profile make it perfect for sticking behind stair handrails. Battery life is fair, I have to replace batteries for one of my lights, which got triggered often maybe 20 times a day, in 10 weeks or so.

Designed to point upward (by way back panel affixes). I use them for night lights and they would work best if they would point down to the floor so the light does not shine in your eyes. If adhesive panel slide sideways if would work in either direction (light point up or down).

Easy to use
Easy to use, just peel and stick. We placed one between storm door and wooden door; now when we come home late the light comes on as soon as we walk up.

The right stuff
There's really not much to dislike about these. They are the right size, the right coverage angle, intelligent mounting, good off-axis motion sensing and a good price. They were perfect for safety on a stairwell when permanent hardwire wasn't practical. Could also work well in a dark closet. These were a good decision.

I love these lights
I love these lights! I used them on my stair case so we don't have to turn on the big lights again that shine right into the bedrooms.
