BrushyBall - Kids Toothbrush Holder, Brushing Timer and Training Coach

I simply cannot say enough great things about BrushyBall! I rarely take the time to post reviews but, this thing is so great, I just had to quickly share my family's experience and give BrushyBall the credit it deserves. My wife asked me to order a toothbrush "timer" on Amazon for our 6 year-old (boy/girl) twins. I do the majority of my shopping on Amazon and, as a Prime member, I almost never but anything here that isn't Prime Eligible. For whatever reason, however, BrushyBall was the only option that just stood out to me as something that would truly appeal to my kids. We could not be happier with the decision! Our kids LOVE it. They're finally focusing on brushing their teeth instead of talking to each other and goofing around with their brushes in their mouths. They're spending the entire two minutes following along with BrushyBall and carefully brushing all of their teeth. They love the music (admittedly, even I can't seem to get the song it plays out of my head) and just can't seem to get enough. This is a great, well thought out product, and it has converted my children from toothbrush-fearing goofballs to regular brushers who look forward to their morning and bedtime routines. If you're reading this review right now, do not hesitate! Get your kids a BrushyBall.

UPDATE: The maker of this item was fantastic. He contacted me and immediately replaced my BrushyBall with a quieter one. We're very happy with the new one and my daughters enjoy using it, following along with which teeth to brush and for how long. Good product! I'm leaving my past review here so others know that the BrushyBall that they purchase will likely be loud. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My daughters wanted a toothbrush timer because they weren't brushing long enough. I found the BrushyBall and thought it seemed like a good solution. We just opened it up, and while it looks nice and my kids were excited to take it upstairs and use it, it is just WAY TOO LOUD! We live in a large, two-story house and I'm downstairs and can hear that thing clearly right now. There's no way one child could use it while the other is sleeping in the next room; I truly can't believe how loud it is. Two improvements I would make would be to add a volume control, and add a silent mode where the lights work but there's no noise. If either of those were available on this I'd give it 5 stars. As is, I'm not sure we'll keep it. I actually hope mine is a defect and can get a quieter one, but I don't really think that's the case. What a disappointment.

I waited a couple months to see if the novelty would wear off, but it hasn’t. My kids love brushing their teeth now, all because of this product. My 4 yo has always liked brushing, but did a distracted incomplete job. This toy has coached her to do all sides of all teeth for a long enough time, so she is building those habits without me nagging. I still do a quick once over, but she surprisingly does great! My 1yo is a stubborn beast who wouldn’t let us get near him with his brush until this toy. When the song comes on and lights flash he has his brush in his mouth the whole time, and is excited enough by the toy to let me get a quick brush on his little teeth.The routine is now fun, predictable, and tearless.Genius product, and we’re so thankful.The owner even hand-delivered it within hours of us ordering, because I guess we are local to him.Wish we had bought this years earlier, I tell every parent I know.

We loved this product as it helped our autistic daughter focus on where she needs to brush and for how long. Unfortunately it stopped working so we changed the batteries and we can not get it to work. I am very disappointed as it took us a long time to find a product that worked for her.

This is a great brushing trainer for my kids. Get's them in the habit of brushing for the recommended time and brushing thoroughly. Unfortunately, like most products these days, this product is made on the cheap. On the first incident the sound stopped working. I'm a pretty handy dad so I took apart the unit and found that a speaker wire had come lose from a poor soldering job. Easy fix with my soldering iron. Now the unit started sounding on its own. At first it was a bit creepy being alone at the time and the unit starts blaring its music but I attributed it as time for a battery replacement. Much like a smoke alarm it will signal you with blurps of sound. Now the not so good part even for the handy dads. Rusted, soggy screws that hold the battery compartment lid on. A very poor design. There is a gasket between the battery compartment and battery lid to keep moisture out, very good. There is a clear plastic moisture barrier on the switch compartment so no water can get inside the switch, very good. But there is no moisture barrier where the 2 screws that hold the battery lid on the bottom of the body. Not even stainless steel screws were used (keeping the cost low). 99% of the time when cheap metal screws rust they will soften like butter. Meaning once you try to use a screwdriver on them they will either break leaving the bottom portion still stuck in the object or the head (where the screwdriver turns the screw) will disfigure due to softening and rendering your screwdriver useless. The only option is to drill the screw out, break the battery compartment lid and tape it back together or throw the unit away. The first option may not work since the screws are so small that drilling them out may damage the screw thread hole therefore not able to replace the screw with a new one. My point is: DO NOT SIT THESE ON A COUNTER THAT MAY BECOME WET. Which is pointless since the kids hands are wet when they close the lid making the counter wet. Or keep a towel under it and keep a watchful eye for mold as the towel sits in water. The screw hole on mine cracked as I was trying to remove a broken, rusted screw. It is now in the recycling bin.

We really love it because plus the light to show what part to brush, even tell us when is time to brush inside, outside and on top or front or back. My kids love it!!

What a genius idea! Worth. Every. Cent.Must have, the kid 6 yo began brushing for full 2 minutes.

It definitely makes my son want to brush. It seems like the tongue should be a button but it's not. I wish it had different settings / songs. It's worth the money overall.

Yes, great gift idea for any younger child learning to brush their teeth.

Died after 2 weeks. Up to that point my kids actually enjoyed it.
