An Easy Read
I'm pretty stressed right now about everything going on in the world, so I needed to find something that didn't require a lot of bandwidth. The Perfect Family is just the right book for that.I flew through the pages of this one. There's a lot going on, but it's easy to keep track of. Entertaining enough, but Harding's subsequent books are better and show her growth as an author.

Perfectly anxious
The Perfect Family is a domestic thriller about a family of four struggling to keep big secrets from each other. The story is told in a first person perspective by all four family members, with each wondering if their secret is the reason their home is being targeted by vandals. The truth is complex and caught me by surprise, as did the not-quite-resolved ending. If the family had been more likable, I would have considered that elusive 5th star, as the suspense was good enough to give me anxiety while reading the book. I found it difficult to have sympathy though for such flawed characters.

A Nice Read
I loved the characters - they were real and despite their imperfections, I was cheering for them. I lived in Portland a few years ago and the author captured the hyper competitive parent vibe of the Northwest part of the city incredibly accurately. Although the choice of Centennial High was puzzling because it is far from the setting depicted in the rest of the story. Agatha Christie it is not but it is indeed a mystery with no obvious solution so it kept me reading. I liked that it was not littered with token wokeisms that are found in so many books. You know, the kind that doing nothing for the plot but authors random!y toss in because it is trendy. I perhaps liked it more due to personal nostalgia for a life once lived. It might be more of a 4 star for those not so connected.

The Perfect Family - Robyn Harding
Interesting, simplistic, and a slow burn. The twists are mild and mostly predictable, so you won’t be enduring any whiplash. It passed the time.

forgettable and lame ending
I pushed to the end of this trite little thriller but felt disappointed by the characters and the dumb ending.

Secrets, oh my GOSH, yes!
A fast paced ride following 4 seedy characters and the secrets within that family..Easy to fly thru the chapters, they all have VERY interesting lives involving their extra-curricular activities!Stellar twists with an awesome ending...very much enjoy this author, with more of her books ordered.

Brings home what is important in life
I loved Robyn Harding's previous books so was keen to read this. It did twist and turn and the culprits were difficult to work out. I did however get a little fed up of the constant thoughts in the characters heads, wanting the plot to move quicker and them to stop surmising what they could do or the natively of thinking things were sorted.Overall it's a great story, bringing home what is most important in life, that material things and appearances are fickle and we should ensure we always make time for those we love.

So good!
Robyn Harting is one of my favourite authors! Her books are page turners. The Perfect Family just shows the reader that no family is perfect. Love all her books!!!
