Although I especially found the Boson exams helpful (and I highly recommend those as well)
I recently took and passed the CEH exam and used this book along with the iLabs and the Boson exam simulator. Although I especially found the Boson exams helpful (and I highly recommend those as well), after taking the exam, I feel that this book covers the material well enough to pass on its own. I was contemplating whether or not to give this book four or five stars as I must warn that I did find a good handful of errors but if you already have Security+ knowledge, they are easy enough to spot. The biggest reason why I decided to give this a 5 star rating is because of the way that the author conveys the material. I've taken many certification exams and have read through many certification books and this is honestly the best one I've used so far. The author manages to keep the material interesting and even entertaining and condenses everything to make it an easy read. This was a huge breath of fresh air after attempting to read the official ECC course material. The book claims that even though it is an AIO that you can't get everything you need from just one book. My opinion is that, although you can't get everything you need to become a true ethical hacker from one book, many could probably pass the exam by using just this one book. When I took the actual exam, the difficulty ended up being much lower than expected and the questions felt very familiar in comparison to what's in this book. The only thing that you might need to venture a little outside is to make sure that you study a broad spectrum of tool commands (Nmap being the most important). However, I feel that I would have still easily passed the exam even if I had missed a bunch of the Nmap questions.

An Interesting "tech" book
Update: I passed my test (yay) and can definitely say this book was instrumental. Still 5 stars.Very engaging and the author keeps it interesting with personal stories and analogies. I will be taking the test tomorrow and will hopefully come back and update with how well this helped prepare me. Regardless of whether I pass or not, at least this was one of the most interesting technical books I've ever read (and I've read many!).

Better than the training materials provided by the EC Council, but not by much
The All-in-One Guide for the CISSP was excellent, so I had high expectations for this guide. Whereas the CISSP guide was tightly written and explained abstract and unfamiliar concepts in plain prose, the CEH guide tries to make the test sound more difficult than it actually is, and includes concepts simply not covered on the test. Moreover, the author lards the text with irrelevant anecdotes. Granted, the official EC training materials are significantly harder to use, so this guide is better than nothing. Presumably, somebody will finally write a decent guide to prepare for this certification.

Overall a good study guide
This was my primary guide for studying for the CEH exam. While the chapters do not line up one-to-one with the objectives (which can be annoying when using this alongside other study materials), this book does cover all the objectives pretty well. I used this to study, and the Boson exams to identify weak areas where I needed to focus more on. While the CEH is not the most exciting subject, this book definitely helps out.

Excellent reference and prep for the CEH
With the exception of practice exams, this book was an excellent prep for the exam, and taught deeper than any practice exam for the long run.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR STUDY MATERIAL
Absolutely horrible book for study material. The author continuously finds reasons to "not include" something in the book for whatever reason. As an example, he claimed that he would not be going over any Cyber laws because there was to many to list? He inserts sections example: banner grabbing) in sections where he feels they should go, even after acknowledging that EC_Council has it under a different area (scanning vs enumeration). There are NO comprehensive "cram" lists such as ports or tool switches. I will not EVER be buying from this publisher or author EVER AGAIN. HORRIBLE BOOK.

Not so great.
The book has tiny font. I had trouble following the structure as compared to the official CEH syllabus. As a matter of fact, I signed up for ECCouncil's CEH v9 online training and their reading material and this book have little in common. I lasted 3 or 4 chapters before I gave up. I didn't like the guys writing style either. Did I say it has tiny print? Tiny font makes this book quite hard to read.

Well written and covers it all
What a good read. Very well written and easy to digest. Covers everything you will need for the exam.Yes, it's v9 and the exam is V10 but not worth paying the extra £20 for one more chapter
