LEATHERMAN, Limited Edition Wave Plus Multitool with Premium Replaceable Wire Cutters, Spring-Action Scissors and Nylon Sheath, Stars and Stripes Black Oxide

Nice wave, ordered to replace my old wave after a mishap put it in the bottom of a river after half a decade or so of trusty use. The replaceable wire cutter is a nice upgrade, was the only piece of my old leathman that didn’t hold up to my abuse and nice knowing I can maintain my tool longer now. This limited edition one is a bit “stiff” new, most likely due to the tougher black finish. Your hands are also going to turn black after assessing it out of the box. That said, doesn’t take long to get it broke in. If you get bored, just go ocd opening and closing everything as you watch the news... give it a good blast of your favorite lubricant-cleaner and life is back to normal. Another minor change that I don’t like is the nylon carrying case this one comes with. It has a new button style, doesn’t appear to be any better or worse than the old but time will tell. The primary dislike, my old wave came with a nylon case that had elastic pouches on the side to carry your bits and extension for the screw driver. Not a deal breaker, but worth taking note of if it applies to you. There’s better belt holders out there anyway. All in all, my “standard equipment” and recommend this leatherman. More versatile and niche models out there, but this serves the purpose of a multi tool well and saves you a trip to the toolbox more times than not. Definitely tops a pocket knife.

I received my first leatherman back when it was just a leatherman and a Swiss Army knife and I’ve owned a leatherman from that day forward. It’s a leatherman wave, what more needs to be said. I owned my 1st Wave for @10 years, till the TSA snagged it - not cool. I had to replace and went for this special edition - which looks great. Only downfall is be prepared to own a blacked out version. I miss my old stainless steel cuz it stuck out like a sore thumb if left it laying around, night or day. This black beauty, make sure it goes back in the holster immediately after use- it disappears and doesn’t stick out like the SS version. But very knife as always, just hope don’t loose it.

Also the case was sewn upside down, so I might have gotten a fugazi product.The rest of the features are cool, but the metal is weak unless you're cutting bread or something.
