Great Toolbox Flashlight
I'm a fan of this line of Rayovac flashlights. They're inexpensive and reliable toolbox flashlights that stand up to a lot of abuse. I always hoped for a good LED version instead of conversions. It does not have a "perfect" beam, no O-ring seals, not military grade machined aluminum and it won't light up the side of a building at 100 yards. If you want that, get a $200 tactical light from SureFire. I have one of those too. The 1W LED puts out plenty of light for work, camping or household use. A 3W LED would put out more light, but would also drain batteries faster. The beam has a bright center spot but no dark areas. It does have the bluish center with a yellowish ring as others have noted, but who really cares for $10. The package labeling said 13 hours of run time so I tried some really old Duracells I had lying around that expired in 2009 at 1.495 & 1.117 volts. I tested the light for multiple 30 minute intervals and I'm up to 22 hours and the flashlight is still going. I'm happy.

Excellent basic flashlight
This is the quintessential industrial-style 2D-cell flashlight, updated to LED technology. As such, at roughly $10 plus shipping, it is without question an excellent value.Points worth noting: * Made of plastic, it is far lighter in the hand, in the pocket, or on the belt than comparable aluminum models. * Construction is rugged. * Fluting on the body and grooves on the head and tail caps make it easy to hang onto - it is not slippery. * The switch is fairly well guarded, but if the slide button IS pushed, it requires relatively little pressure to activate the light. This could be a problem in a packed toolbox where subject to bouncing and jostling, but probably not otherwise. * Light output is considerable - comparable to my 3D-cell LED MagLite, slightly brighter than my 2AA-cell 3-watt LED Streamlight. * The beam falls in a large diffuse cloud, favoring medium-range objectives over distant ones. The focus is NOT adjustable. There is a bright spot at the center, but no holes. It is a very effective general-purpose beam pattern. * The head has a modest anti-roll feature - the light will stay put when laid down on a flat surface. All in all, I find it a well made basic flashlight for general use - and a pleasant surprise indeed to get all of this for around $10.

High Quality doesn't always mean high price!
I love this flashlight. Its the best flashlight I've ever owned. Although I haven't really owned too many, I've gone through a few LED flashlights before and they didn't compare to this one in brightness, overall build quality, or features. My favorite thing about this light is the size of it. It's not tiny but its small enough and light enough to be carried every day (EDC) or kept in the glove box of t he car. I might buy another one later for my bug out bag. The only thing that could be better is the spread of light. The center is very bright and that helps give it that long distance brightness rating of 200 lumens but I wouldn't mind less distance and more spread. I'm still giving it 5 stars because thats just a personal preference. Also, it can be a little annoying to have to cycle through the low, high, and strobe settings but thats no big deal. If you compare this light to some other 'equivalent' lights you'll pay MUCH more. Some are twice as much and some of the surefire's get up to $200. For $22 I'm very satisfied. I hope this puppy lasts.

Strange beam...
The reviewer Albert Jackson got it exactly right: the beam this throws out is pretty weird. The center of the hotspot is a bluish-white and it's surrounded by a yellow ring -- I'm talking fog light yellow. Any object caught in the yellow ring of the hotspot looks yellow or yellowish. The spill is comprised of thinner concentric rings of alternating white and yellow light, but this is only really evident if you shine it on a surface closer than 6' from you. The brightness of the beam is fine and probably at least close to the manufacturer rated 85 lumens. The actual build quality of the flashlight seems at least as durable as most other plastic 2D cell flashlights I've handled -- it'll probably stand up to years of rough handling and occasional drops. Some might find the weird light this throws out kind of neat, but I'd guess the other 99.9% of flashlight users will find it irritating at best. I'm going to keep it as a deep backup as it's $15 price makes it not really worth the time to return, but I'd advise others to find another cheap 2D LED flashlight to buy.

Nice size flash light with holster and adjustable beam and brightness
This flashlight from old name Rayovac, is a very handy light, I find the low setting at 60 lumens, powerful enough for most things, but its nice to have the 200 lumens available for when you need extra lignt. It also has a strobe, that could come in handy to disorient a home invader. The beam is adjustable, but doesn't get much wider in the house, outside is where you can really see the beam open up when you turn it to max width. It runs on 3 AAA batteries that are held in a holder that fits into the light. I like flashlights that use ordinary batteries you can pick up anywhere. This light came with a holster, which is nice. I would have liked a lanyard too, but I was able to take one from an older flashlight and use it on this one ok. Hard to beat for the price. And is bright enough at the 200 lumens setting to disorient any home invader in the night. Plus you have the strobe feature available too. I would recommend this to a friend, and am very happy with it.

Incredible flashlight
This is quite likely the best flashlight you can purchase in Canada at this price. It is small, sturdy and incredibly powerful. With reasonable care, this product could probably last a lifetime. It is of similar to the Coleman Max (AAA) which is apparently not available in Canada.
