Women's Cotton Small Vera Tote Bag

I purchased this bag for my mom at Mother's Day. She loved the pattern, so I did not return her bag as I did mine. She is 94 and less particular about the quality. Whoever in the VB company who decided it would be a great idea to cheapen the fabric quality, and replace the quilted-through lining and pockets, should be fired. An embarrassing legacy for a formerly made-in-America, iconic company.

I picked this bag up in the vines floral pattern. The pattern itself is beautiful. It reminds me of an old pattern by VB called botanica. Unfortunately the pattern is the only thing I like. Maybe I got a dud, but the bag is not made well. The bottom of the bag will not flatten out. Perhaps it was stitched wrong together at the base, but it feels as if a cardboard piece is horribly bent inside the material and because of that the bag will not flatten out. The inside material is poorly stitched as well. There is a crease all the way around the top and when I put my stuff inside it causes the material to bunch up and not lay flat. Looks awful, like an inexperienced person made it. Lastly, the metal zipper on the front where the small pocket is will not close. I cannot get it to close completely. Not what I expected for $78. What a waste of money. I have purchased better quality cotton purses from Waverly at Walmart, and Bella Taylor for a fraction of the price.

The fabric is lovely as always. The new rayon type flimsy pockets are terrible. The lure of Vera Bradley was the interior that had great fabric pockets that didn't catch on the wallet or other things being placed inside the bag. The lack of a hard bottom piece is also frustrating. This purse doesn't sit up well because of it. The quality has certainly changed.

So to be honest, I was a little skeptical about buying a Vera Bradley purse on Amazon (I've never done that before, I have always ordered from the site or gotten them in stores), and after some of the reviews it made me nervous. I decided to go ahead and order a few Vera things from Amazon. I always wanted to order a small Vera tote, and I decided to bite the bullet and order one. I just received it in the mail today, and all I can say is it's GORGEOUS. I am in love with it. The pattern is vibrant, and I feel like it can be used year round because of the gray in the background despite the flowers all over. The size is perfect! I've owned multiple Vera bags in my life, and this looks/feels authentic. I haven't used it yet, so if anything happens I will update this review. However, I'm very happy I got this! The ONLY con is when you get it, the cardboard on the bottom on the bag gets bent just by the way they send it. So I currently have it sitting down with two Bath & Body Works candles in it to help flatten the bottom. Other than that, I'm so excited to use this!UPDATE 2/28/21: I looked at my bag yesterday, and found that the straps had an almost tear like feature on them, and some of the string was pulled in the front. Now, I did return it and I'm ordering another one. I'm trying it one more time. If it's the same, I of course will return it, and be on the look out for this bag from an online buyer site (Poshmark, Mercari, etc) or try to outlet near me to see if they have it. I love the size of the bag and the pattern too much to give up on it. Fingers crossed the next one (arriving tomorrow) is in better condition.UPDATE 3/1/21: I got the new Vera, and it's perfect! Nothing wrong with this one. No rips or tears on the straps. So happy! Came with tags as well.

There are numerous things I love about this bag...The size is perfect for my Remarkable tablet, which is the key reason I purchased it. The shoulder straps are a great length and stay put on my shoulder. I use the numerous pockets inside to place items so I can find them easily versus lots of loose items in the bottom. There are also 3 external pockets, one with a zipper which is perfect for my car fob and credit card case. Then there is a sleeve type pocket where I keep my mask for easy access. Finally, my favorite external pocket is the signature "hidden" slip-in pocket that is deep enough for my cell phone to be completely concealed so that it is within easy reach but won't fall out (see photo). Those are the features I love, but I also love the beautiful pattern, the colors and the bag's softness. I will note that in the picture the background appared black to me when I purchased it on line but is actually a dark navy blue which was a bit disappointing; Not enough however to cause me to return it.

I have gotten many book bags for carrying files to and from my businesses. They are alwasy too big, causing my files to slide and slump so they don't stand up and become less and less easy to access quickly.I searched and searched and found this gem! It is JUST THE RIGHT size for this purpose. There is a small, neat pocket inside and out for smaller items too. The files stand perfectly, no slouching!It is also beautiful, but still somewhat professional looking.It would also fit most laptops if you are so inclined.

Bought this bag in Regal Rosette for my mom for Mother's Day. I chose this size because she needed something practical to use as a purse that was also big enough to store all her belongings. The zipper closure and the multiple pockets/compartments are also a nice touch.I love the color purple, but the bag is surprisingly even more vibrant in person when compared to the online pic. I was afraid it would be too dark for a spring/summer bag, but the pattern is beautiful and the colors are perfect. This was my first Vera Bradley purchase and will not be my last!

I have a couple of Vera Bradley totes that are much larger, that I have used for home based business. This one is perfect for everyday use. Lots of pockets around the inside, just like the larger ones, but still plenty of room in the center for my wallet and a few other items. The hidden pocket at the top of the bag is perfect for my phone. Love this bag! May order a different color in the future.

Love the pattern. Nice long handles that sit well on the shoulder. 6 large internal pockets and 2 outside pockets for phone or keys and a zippered one for valuables. Holds plenty for a day at work or out shopping. I use the small Vera to carry my MacBook, iPad, iPhone, lunch bag, makeup bag, sunglasses case and wallet and there's still plenty of room for a couple of file folders and office supplies.If you need a larger tote Vera Bradley have you covered with the VERA. It's about twice the size - perfect for travel, or teachers, or big shopping trips.

This tote is the perfect size to use as a daily purse. Large enough to carry all the necessities, but not too large. It has 6 inner pockets (which are big enough to hold my water bottle), and two outer pockets which I use for my phone and keys. The handle is comfortable, and it looks beautiful. I can't comment on the durability yet.Update: after a month a seam is already coming out. It won't be hard to stitch up but it's quite disappointing
