How Do You Dance?

A family favorite!
We first found this book at the library and then had to buy our own because we loved it so much. It’s a silly book that my toddlers age 2 &4 love. And it’s one that I enjoy re-reading as well. It gets us all up dancing and trying the moves too!

I adore this book
I'm a dance-lover, and this book brings me so much joy. I love how it shows so many different people from many walks of life spontaneously dancing just for fun or to express their feelings. And all of their different personal dance styles are such a hoot. It's a great classroom book that I think many kids will see themselves in, whether it's a dance style they share or a dancer that looks like them. And it's great on a rainy day to kick off a fun little dance party!

Free children’s imaginations to express themselves in movement
This is a book that illustrates the many ways people dance in a multicultural nation such as the US (with the addition of a few dinos, horsies and robots on the final pages). It even includes a boy who steadfastly refuses to dance with the others. I recommend it highly to anybody who wants to share the joy of expressive movement with young children.Note: Although the book as a whole will appeal mostly to preschoolers, there are some wonderful illustrations of dancing adults and teens, too, especially on the fly leaves!
