The bolt is plastic. I got this for my 7 year old and showed him how to use it. Unfortunately the neighbor kid got a hold of it, he is 4, and broke it.

This toy was a great gift for my grandson. Yes it makes a shooting sound and he loves it.

They resemble the .308 but are lighter and shinier (obviously). Everything about this gun made my heart melt and my daughter LOVES it ♥️
