LEGENDARY-YES 1911 Grips Full Size Govt Commander Walnut Engraved Cross

I’m sorry for the three star review. These really are pretty nice grips. I did have a couple of problems though. They were with the left side panel. The top hole wasn’t drilled out properly (I tried them on 3 different 1911s). It may not seem like a big deal to all those people who have tools and have worked with wood, but for someone without those it’s a hassle. Also there was a section about an inch and a half long that looks like it was scraped so that the checkering was removed. I didn’t send them back because they took a while to get here, and I can live with the checkering issue.

Tolerances were off and while the left grip fit somewhat awkwardly, the right grip screw hole top centers were off and did not fit my RIA 1911 FS. Not to mention the wood quality feels subpar and its color is way lighter than expected - which is funny since another reviewer posted it's darker than expected. Different wood qualities being used.The right, darker grip in the photo is my original grip.

The Grips were easy to install. They felt great and came sooner than expected. I would give a 5 but the color was much darker than shown in the photos. See attached.

Grips fit my Kimber 1911 full size perfect. Looks great. My only concern is the wood feels somewhat raw or unfinished. When I clean the gun, I will probably remove the grips as I don't know what the CLP will do to the finish of them. Outside of that, they are perfect.

They are well made. Happy with the purchase. Fit my firearm very well.
