Illuminating
I have read this Biblical account many times as a child and as an adult. Heard it preached many times.Never have I heard this explained in such depth and clarity. The Mercy of God truly past finding out. It's a reassurance that God does care for humanity.

Profoundly Poignant Piercing Prodigal Preoccupations
The book is in 2 parts. One overviews each chapter whilst the second delves deeper into contemporary issues. Some chapters are a long read and need dividing but it is a boom I was loath to put down. The usefulness of this book is that it helps us consider our own preoccupations in light of Jonah's and our purposes in light of God's Person.

Fantastic Exposition
This book brings a new level of understanding to a very misunderstood book. It brought so much new and fresh insights. Keller brings to light so many things that we can learn from Jonah and how we can repent from our own sinful attitudes.

Great stuff
Insightful, intelligent, accessible, relevant. I'm not just talking about The Prodigal Prophet, but the book of Jonah itself. Keller demonstrates the importance of studying Jonah, and it's practical implications for modern life.

Great exposition with practical applications
Made me really think about the context of the Book of Jonah. It's not about a big fish at all! More about Jonah's attitude to 'others' and absolutely about God's grace. A book to make you think. Useful for those of us who preach.

Good book
I can’t really review the book in that sense as it was a gift for my brothers birthday although he said it’s a really good book and he reads a lot !

SO GOOD HANDS DOWN
What a powerful depiction of the story of Jonah. Many things I love but I don’t want to give any spoilers. What I can say is this, author Timothy Keller breaks down the before Jonah. The “in the process Jonah” and then the after Jonah. I love that it’s relatable to many things, particularly ministry. Can’t preach to the people if you don’t love them. Simple and obvious truth but here in this book and of course the Holy Spirit this book was definitely a great tool and reminder of God’s grace and love.

Worth the read
Intensely timely and lifts a childhood story out of a simplistic understanding to crystallise how we are all ultimately Jonah.Keller is always very readable and keenly intelligent. Every sentence hits home.
