Star Wars: The Jedi Path

A must have for Star Wars fans
If you have a strong aversion to the EU and any reference to it, you probably won't like this book. If, however, you have been curious to learn more about the Jedi Order, it's trials, specialties, philosophy, etc. this is the book for you.The production quality of this book (for only $12 on Amazon) is really astounding. You get a lot of content for a very good price. There are wonderful illustrations, there are lots of fun and interesting notes in the book from various characters from the movies and EU, and the author shows his considerable knowledge of the Star Wars universe throughout the pages of this book.If I had any criticisms of the book, it would be why would the Jedi still be using a text created a 1000 years before the Battle of Yavin (BBY) around 150-100 BBY? Certainly they have the resources to print more books with regularly revised editions rather than force 5-6 generations of padawans to use their master's old copy? Perhaps that is indicative of how they were set in their old ways and thus didn't adapt to changing circumstances that ultimately led to their undoing when Sidious overthrew them. Also, while most of the notes in the margins are brilliant, some of them could have used a little more work. Sometimes they repeat almost word for word something already in the text, either what the user underlined right next to the comment or a nearly identical phrase appears in the very next paragraph. That is only a minor quibble, however, for most of the notes are well-done and all capture the personality of the character who wrote them very, very well. So, despite the above paragraph inserted for the sake of objectivity, I strongly recommend this book. It is one of those must have guides to the galaxy that go above and beyond and really try to present a faithful in-universe exploration of the Star Wars galaxy (in this sense the book is very similar to the "dewback-hide" covered book about animal life in the Star Wars universe).

Perfect book
Great book not meant for kids or someone who doesn’t care about the books. Cost money but is worth it.

Become a Jedi Master?
Written as a field guide for Jedi that’s been passed down through generations starting from Yoda to LukeRuffled edges gives it a more artificial aging appearanceI like how there are notes in the margins and text blacked out from previous in-universe jedi ownersYou get commentary from Yoda, Thame Cerulian, Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Anakin, Ashoka, Dath Sidious, Luke Skywalker. Each sign their names after each note which is kind of odd. Guess it's better than trying to recognize handwriting on the flyGives great perspective on their personality and view points of each JediThe actual Jedi info is interesting. Goes in depth in the culture, politics and how its not all about light sabersNo add-in extras (page inserts, ripped pages, etc) available special editions. Most are omitted, or modified. For example the section of ‘path of the chosen one’ is ripped out in special edition, but in this version text blacked outOverall, interesting read. great insight into the Jedi culture with commentary from previous owners

An Elaborate Introduction Into The Jedi Order
If Star Wars lights up the fire in your imagination, then this book helps throws logs onto it to keep imagination burning.Star Wars – The Jedi path by Daniel Wallace, is a book that seeks out to supplant the Star Wars Universe with additional information for fans of all types.Woven within the pages of the book are the many intricacies that are required by those fascinated by the Jedi Path.Although notably a quick read, the book contains rather detailed and quite in-depth information regarding all aspects of the Jedi Order. Not only does the book do an adequate job of introducing the reader to the Jedi Order, but it also heads deeper than that. From there the book goes on to break down the Jedi Order into its various parts: Initiates, Padawans, and Jedi Knights. Within each of these sections a further breakdown is carried out outlining many of the details that are needed in order to progress towards the next stage.Another intriguing component of the book is the fact that the book takes you through the history of who owned it as it was passed down from Master to Padawan [Master Yoda, Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ahsoka Tano, etc.] and when that took place. Additionally, sprinkled throughout the book are small annotations where each of these characters input their insights and commentary. It definitely adds a rather unique and authentic flavor to the book seeing each of the personalities of these characters shine through, or hint at darker elements, such as comments by Anakin.Compellingly written, the author does a brilliant job of bringing authenticity to the Jedi Universe in a way that any serious fan would appreciate.Further information contained within the book are what the Three Pillars Of The Jedi are, information on lightsaber use and techniques, the various types of Jedi Knights, some history, and much more. Even the importance of meditation within the Jedi discipline is mentioned in various instances, which was kind of interesting since it echoes the sentiments of Eastern Philosophy and many Martial Arts.In sum, if you know someone that’s a Star Wars fan, and is interested in a deeper layer of the Jedis, then this book is definitely a great read.
