OK, some people would use an extension cord. But why not place the Battery Tender away from the battery and on a shelf? I would rather have the electronics removed from any Hydrogen source reducing any ignition possibilities. The cable is high quality and connects firmly to the attachments as well as the Tender. The car battery charged overnight with this set-up and as it is winter, will stay connected for a few more months. The price is cheap enough so why not cleanup the installation? Update: I did have a battery fail on a new vehicle that is not driven in the winter. I have read that the vehicle did have a battery issue as it is pretty much all electronic. I think it may have also been the voltage drop on the DC side of the long extension. I measured the resistance of the extension and it could have lowered the DC voltage not allowing the battery to charge properly. I now use an AC extension cord and skip the DC extension just to be on the safe side.

With this 25 ft extension I can leave the Battery Tender inside the garage and close the door so it's not out in the weather ~ nor any concern about the BT coming up missing, and reach my truck battery in the driveway to be sure it starts in the winter. We also keep a car in our one car garage, that is hardy ever driven, so periodically I connect the Batter Tender to the car to maintain that battery too. And the Battery Tender works equally well, with or with-out the 25 ft ex. The total potential lenght combining this cable, with the BT cords are about 38 ft. if continued in a straight line. The cords of the Battery Tender Plus are ~ Electric cord 74" long ~ Cable that clips to a battery 84" long ~ totaling over 13 ft. For me the BT extension cable is perfect. I leave my car hooked up for several days ~ then add the 25 ft ex and clip to the truck. This extension cable is of good quality and adds to the versatility of the BT Plus.

Battery Tender located on a work bench to keep a car battery fully-charged. Wanted the connection between the Battery Tender and battery to be always and conveniently available. Routed this extension overhead and the battery connection end is now conveniently located and will not be tripped on. Highly recommended.

The ends fit snugly into the cord you're extending, and everything works fine... The plastic coating is overly stiff & just has a generally "creepy" (I don't know how else to describe it) feel to it. It just feels cheap and makes a weirdly "hollow" sound as it clacks against the concrete. It also is *very* stiff. I've had one of these laying outside for a year and it still has the from-the-box kinks in it. It's unlike any other cord I have. Also...why not put the little protective cap on both ends to prevent crap from getting in there? I know you can stick the two ends together to that effect when unused, but having the cap on only one end means you're 50/50 on the cord being the "wrong way" even though it's uni-directional... Minor, but it's already pretty expensive for what amounts to be lamp cord with a special fitting on each end...

Easy extension cable for auto/boat/MC/RV battery charger or minder. Quick and secure connection. I don't know what the length limit is on such extensions, this one seems ok.

A must have if you have a newer battery tender. I have a newer car that has all the bells and whistles and those bells and whistles drain the battery even when its off. I dont drive it that often since I work from home, there is nothing worse than going out and the battery is dead. This cord has allowed me to keep the battery tender in the house where its dry and run the cord out of the window to my car keeping my battery fully charged at all times. No need to worry about it getting damp or wet if it rains since the battery tender need to be kept in a dry environment. Im a happy happy girl !

The extension cord I needed. I'm using it with a motomaster 3 bank charger that happens to have all the same ends as the battery tender brand charger. Works great and priced well.

Has really extended the cord for the Battery Tender, just as it was needed in my case. This Battery Tender and cord are being used on my generator to keep the electric start operational as the pullcord start is very hard for me to use. The Tender needs to be kept separate and away from the battery and this achieves this.
