Disney Princess: Storybook Collection Advent Calendar: A Festive Countdown with 24 Books

As others stated, the stories contained are not Christmas oriented stories. I can see how people were confused about this. I assume the Christmas magic the write up is referring to is the opening of one book a day up to Christmas Day. It never actually states that the books are of a Christmas nature. The calendar arrived wrapped in plastic so no damage to the outside or inside. Inside are 24 slots to hold each book. Each book is encased in a paper slipcover. I know some other reviewers though this was cheap, but I liked it for two reasons. 1. I don’t have to worry about cleaning up a ton of plastic waste and my toddler likes to put the books back in the slip covers and reopen them throughout the day. 2. I highly recommend opening the books while your child is asleep and redistributing them in a better order. I assume they’re put in randomly, but there were several instances where there would be back to back stories about the same character. There seem to be two stories per princess. I made sure that she would be opening her favorite character on the 24th and also closer to the beginning of December. The books are well made and perfect for tiny hands but they still contain a decent amount of sentences per page. Some of the stories are abridged versions of the Disney movie so if you have the little golden books versions you might not enjoy this. My child is young enough that she would enjoy this anyway. She loves that the book size is small for her and is enthralled by the giant book shaped case it comes in. Overall, this has been a great experience for my family even though they aren’t Christmas stories.

I don’t know why everyone’s upset it’s not Christmas themed stories. This is my first ever advent calendar and when I bought it, there was no thought in my mind it the stories would be Christmas themed. It’s Disney princesses. I assumed the stories would be about the princesses. And there’s absolutely no description that states it’s a Christmas theme so idk why someone would say that. I have 5 year old twin girls and they are loving this. They love finding the number and it’s teaching them their numbers more. Bonus for me. The only issue I have is they aren’t super fond of how long the stories are but that’s no fault of the product. They just don’t have the attention span lol. Otherwise it’s awesome.

This is such a well put together advent calendar. It arrived with all the books in tact. The books were bright and colorful, but I think the stories are wayyyy too long. It didn’t hold my daughters attention at all. So I skipped a bunch of lines, but still totally worth it.

My child loved having a book to read each day and could read it alone. Disappointed that most of the stories are repeats from other Disney books out there (5 minute story books etc) and also it had absolutely no Christmas stories. It was fun for one year; I wouldn’t do it again though.

The size is very large and exciting for my daughter who is almost 5. The books are cute. Was hoping for a unique story rather than the basics that were half the books. But overall a lot of enjoyment through the whole month.

We love these advent calendars. Last year we had Frozen and this year princess. The Frozen books are still around and used heavily a year later. The princess ones are also a big hit so far, but just so parents know, if you also have the 5 Minute Princess stories, there is a decent amount of overlap. My 3 year old thinks this is great and we each have our own book to “read”, but if you already have a lot of princess books this might be a problem.

The quality was good and my daughter loved opening them, but I wouldn’t suggest this advent for 2/3 year olds. The books are more advanced…I’d probably say 5 and up.

Honestly, my only real complaint is that there is no number 11. 18 was on there twice, and a lot of the fun for my daughter was finding the number. The description doesn't say anything about Christmas stories so I'm not really sure why everybody's upset about that, but my daughter loves the new stories about the princesses and the recaps of The originals. Would definitely buy it again next year!

I was super excited to receive this item. I even pre-ordered it back in October. I thought that they would be Princess Christmas stories, but from what I can see by peeking at the books…they are regular Disney Princess stories. What a bummer!!! I already have all the “little golden books” from Disney, so half of the stories in this advent calendar are useless. Also, it’s HUGE! I would say it’s about 3 1/2 feet tall (which is ok).The quality of the books is great but the stories are NOT Christmas related at all. So if you’re looking to get in the Christmas mood by reading these books you won’t. But if you want a collection of Princess stories for anytime, this is for you.I will be returning this item and getting the other version that seems to be X-Mad stories instead.Wish the description of the stories was included before making this purchase.

Usually when you think advent calendar .. it would be Christmas themed. It definitely is not. It’s all regular stories. It’s to late for me to send back and order something else so I’m very disappointed as we preordered this instead of doing chocolates.It’s a beautiful calendar & huge. Great idea but should be Christmas stories. When it arrived all the Books were scattered and a couple had rips😔 I would not order again that’s for sure.

Half the stories in this item are just the basic Disney stories and none of them are Christmas themed. I preordered back in October thinking this would be a great Christmas addition to our story books.. it’s not. Also on arrival the stories had all fallen out of the calendar… so all in all a little disappointing.

It’s easy to see how a book could go missing when the packaging is so poor due to lack of film protection. The books fall out of the pocket easily and nobody ensured a complete set prior to shipping. Also the books are soft cover, I mean like paper folded over and stapled together. And really small each. I haven’t read one yet but I can’t imagine the quality being any better than the wrap and styling. Here I am thinking I’ll do the educational calendar and I should have just stuck with the dollarama chocolate calendar.

Got it at a discounted price, even that the value is not great. The book is very small, and only a few pages. Feel like McDonald’s kids meal books are even better than this. The calendar made most effort on the cover, the books should matter more than the cover itself. Great representation as a gift, as the cover looks nice.
