Simplicity 8013 1970's Vintage Fashion Dress Sewing Patterns, Sizes 14-22

I can't lie; I am not a fan of many of the dress patterns shown in current catalogs. The pattern I ordered from Simplicity's 1970's Vintage Fashion Dress Sewing Patterns published in 2013 is stunning! It arrived promptly and it is like new...never cut. I look forward to making a muslin and then a dress that is sure to turn heads.

Haven't used it yet but seems to be as advertised.

Brand new, perfect pattern!!

I have been wanting this pattern for awhile, it looks like the ultimate 70s Mrs. Robinson dress. I imagined myself strolling across my balcony to watch the pool boy take his shirt off, the ice in my vodka gimlet clinking as it slowly melted in my glass. It's hot outside but I look and feel cool and breezy in my flowy frock. FYI I have no pool and I live in a first floor apartment but hey with this dress anything seemed possible.The actual, physical pattern arrived quickly with no problems...your standard paper pattern with written instructions. Everything else was kind of a let down, though. First of all, it isn't an actual wrap dress. A basic Google search of the pattern number would have told me that but I was swept away by my pool boy fantasy. It has gathering at the shoulder, the bodice waist and all bazillion yards of the skirt: this dress eats up fabric like you wouldn't believe. The estimated fabric yardage needed on the back is a whopping 10 yards, and I really couldn't commit that much yardage to a dress I wasn't sure I would love. The instructions are a little vague for the bodice, as well. I was bummed, overall. I made the bodice and I wasn't digging it, so I decided to scrap the skirt and use the fabric for something I know I will love. Bummer, overall. I probably won't bother trying to make this again.

Pattern was fine inside, but postage label ruined front of pattern picture. I tried to remove it and it ruined the pattern envelope, which shows the dress. Not happy with how it arrived. Lazy shipping procedure.

Item was delivered to my mail box and I was not aware for days!

Made it with taffeta, this dress is perfect for a wedding dress or formal event. Depending on the material you can make it more casual but most importantly it fits perfectly

Práctico y fácil de usar.

I used this pattern to make my mrs Santa Claus outfit I made it out of completely the wrong fabric. It was a heavy red velvet but it was still a beautiful dress when finished. I had lots of comments about how beautiful it was. Highly recommend will be making again in a more appropriate fabric. I have a large underskirt on in this picture which you don’t need, but it gives address a lot of presents.

leider ist der schnitt nicht in der richtigen größe geliefert. deshalb muß ich ihn vergrößern. ansonsten wie alle schnittmuster von simplicity. gut. dieser ist auch sehr gut erhalten.

I enjoyed making version B of this dress, I feel fabulouos. I used a pink glittery lurex and the results are brilliant! I am a beginner and the pattern was very easy to follow, I would recommend it :)
