Blake Shelton's “If I’m Honest” is simply excellent on many levels.
I recently listened to Blake Shelton’s new album “If I’m Honest” for the first time, through the Amazon Prime streaming service. I must admit that before then, I wasn’t very familiar with Blake Shelton or his music. About the only song of his that I can recall as being memorable was his superb cover of an old Conway Twitty power ballad called “Goodbye Time,” which first appeared on his 2004 album “Blake Shelton’s Barn and Grill.”“If I’m Honest” is simply excellent on many levels. Shelton’s rich baritone voice, with its distinctive country twang, caresses the lyrics he sings with great feeling, making each song easy to listen to. Shelton has a nice and relaxed style of singing, even on “sad ole country songs” like “Bet You Still Think About Me;” upbeat tunes like his duet with Gwen Stefani “Go Ahead and Break My Heart;” and his wonderful Gospel song “Savior’s Shadow.”Every song on “If I’m Honest” is of the highest quality. There’s not a weak tune to be found anywhere in the 40-plus minutes of this album. In addition to the ones I’ve mentioned above, I especially like “Straight Outta Cold Beer,” “Came Here to Forget,” and “Doing It to Country Songs.”I liked “If I’m Honest” so much that I eventually purchased the MP3 version of the album for my music library. It's the latest addition to my rapidly growing country music collection, and one that I’m sure I will listen to constantly. Highly recommended.

Congratulations to Blake for a superb album!
This album way over the top as far as my expectations are concerned. I am still amazed by the "COMPLETE" honesty that was exhibited in the lyrics to the songs on this album. It is rarely, at least in my opinion , that males will admit openly to how much emotionally they are/have beenaffected by a personal relationship. In this case to the entire world! It seems as though in our society, that is considered a sign of weakness. I just wish/ and hope for both Blake and Gwen that they get a chance at having the relationship they appear to BOTH desire. Thanks so much for one of the BEST albums I have ever enjoyed listening to! I think anyone who has ever been in a long term or serious romantic relationship that for whatever reason did not work out, can very much identify with these lyrics. Personally for myself, some songs are very uplifting, and allow me to reflect backon fond memories without heartache or resentment.

I'm going to be honest...
I have to admit I'm not the biggest country fan at all out there. In fact, I have very few songs in my playlist. However, I have listened to a lot of country throughout the years and I have to say, this album is in my top 3 out of all the albums I own; not just country. The songs are engaging, heartfelt, rollicking, and had me singing and wanting a cold beer while listening to Straight Outta Cold Beer. There is a beautiful mix on the album from Grass which took me back to the farms on the high plains of New Mexico to the emotional tugging of Bet You Still Think About Me. Even if you aren't a country fan, those who enjoy punk sensation Gwen Stefani will love the duet Go Ahead and Break My Heart done with Blake on this album. Truly an amazing release and has me excited to see what he'll do next!

If I'm Honest
This is my review of If I'm Honest, the tenth studio album by American country music singer Blake Shelton. The album was released on May 20, 2016, by Warner Bros. Nashville. I have been a fan of his music since 2001 when he released the song Austin. On this album are 15 great tracks, so far three of them have hit the Billboard Country Charts, they are Came Here To Forget, She’s Got A Way With Words, and A Guy With A Girl. Other great cuts off this album include Straight Outta Cold Beer, Go Ahead And Break My Heart (With Gwen Stefani) and many more. Whether you are a country fan or just a Blake Shelton fan, I would highly recommend this album for your library.

I'll be honest...
It's not often that I like all the songs on an album, this is one of those rare times. There is a fun mix of great country songs as I knew there would be, but what I like most about this album is the focus on the "feel" as well as the sound. It's a journey through dark times full of pain, confusion, regret that eventually turns into hope, pleasure, new love. My kind of music! One song that really surprised me was "It Ain't Easy" - the horn section adds a little soul, but there is a definite pop vibe too. Kinda reminds me Van Morrison. Unexpected and totally addictive. For so many reasons, Blake Shelton has a right to be proud of this album.

Blake Shelton is at his best......full of emotion!!
This is Blake's 10th album and probably the most anticipated album in his repertoire. Obviously there's a big back story with him and Gwen Stefani who I also love and adore, and the collaboration and songwriting is top notch. Blake Shelton is at his best when he is in that bluegrass mode and he is telling his story. He has a terrific style about him and I also thought the production values overall with the album were outstanding. I was very surprised and enjoyed the fact that Gwen and Blake put their duet on the album. Anybody that enjoys true country music from a grand Storyteller of love, heartbreak, and a real man's emotion, then you should easily enjoy Blake's new contribution.

Best album in years
I've given this album 5 stars mainly because Blake should be congratulated on releasing a country album that sounds like country not pop or disco, take note Keith Urban & Luke Bryan! This is one of his best albums (he rates it as his best), but time will tell if I'm still playing it in a few months time, then I'll know, in any rate it's a good album. And Brad Paisley sure was right when he said that at least we can expect some better stuff after his divorce. Country music has always worked better with songs about breakups and hardship, it's not called the white man's blues for no reason!Blake is one of the most successful country artists around at the moment and this album sounds like the material he was producing 10 years ago, and it should be stated that it's far superior to his last effort which was his weakest album. Thank god also that the music industry seams to be getting over the deluxe edition as there isn't one in sight yet. Seams like all my complaining has finally paid off! There are some really 'country' songs on this album, weird I know! But it's a bit ironic that the most country sounding came from the movie 'The Angry Birds' which really is doing a parody of country like all animated features do. The song 'Friends' is an album highlight, but I really can't see country radio playing this type of music at the moment. Another standout is the equally old style country 'Doing it to Country songs', but I'm over 50 and have been listening to country since the 1970's, but then again most major country stars are over 40 now also.'Came here to forget' has already been a big hit in the States and some of other songs: 'Saviour's shadow', 'Go ahead and break my heart' & 'She's got a way with words' have also charted. In fact this should be the way of the music industry now. Artists should be releasing songs on a weekly or monthly basis prior to the release of an album, a bit like the music industry of the 1950's where singles were more important than albums. It's the only way the industry will make money. And as an after thought, hasn't he already released 'Green' before? Wonder why he rerecorded it?
