Witch: A chilling horror novel (The Cursed Manuscripts)

This is one of those books that's easy to read but really well crafted. The storytelling is really good and riveting. What I liked most about it was the characters were so believable. I loved the twists and turns, and the emotional intelligence used to flesh out the characters.I really enjoyed reading this book.

I really enjoyed this story, well written and pacey, in fact I read it over a couple of days.I don’t want to spoil the ending. But a follow up book would be great.

I have always really enjoyed reading this author's work and this is no exception. Well written with characters that are believable. They are slightly different from the usual style of characters but it works great with this particular story and shows that he can create any type of person and convey them all perfectly.I started this early yesterday morning and I had finished it the same day. I could not detach from it and had to find out what happened next. Any possible way that my brain thought the story would end like turned out to be wrong completely. Nothing better than that as it is always good to be surprised.The author did not linger too long on the shock aspect unlike what some choose to do. It was described well and you are able to picture it for yourself but it certainly was not all about the gore as there was actual substance to this story.I cannot believe I have only read this book now (bought last year or year before.) Shall place the blame onto having numerous little demon children to look after! I am definitely going to read the other books that follow this one and it is such a brilliant feeling to have ~ knowing that you have fantastic reads in front always makes my days so much better.Shall stop my rambling now but thank you for sharing this with us as you are definitely a reliable and fantastic author. You have the ability to conjure up all of these other worlds, which are always unique, and to allow us to tag along too. Onto the next book I go!

This book was pretty good and I want to say up front that I am part way through the second in the series and it is MUCH better.The story was good, I liked the slight twist at the end, nothing ground breaking but I do love a bit of easy reading that doesn't involve 'glistening hard pecks' alluring susceptible young maidens.My huge problem was with the "yoff" characters and their really horrible "council estate" speak. It was like trying to listen to someones posh 50 year old dad try and imitate what he THOUGHT "da yoff sounded like init?" I grew up on an estate and I never heard anyone speak like that...ever. We hung out at the park (possibly drinking) and we didn't get close to how the young people in this book talked. It's trying way to hard and it was cringy. It ruined the whole book. It was also disturbing that every single character from the council estate was either alcoholic, criminal or violent which is not a fair representation. Again made me think of a middle class middle age white guy imagining what he thought the filthy masses got up to. It was Not so bad that I didn't finish it but if it had been any longer I think that I would have given up.I wanted to be fair so I started reading the next book (I brought them as a bundle) and so far the second one doesn't have many younger people in it and is a much better, smoother read.

Very much enjoyed this book & audio book link.Creepy & tension building. Them poor kids. But yes boom & kicking back.

Great story as usually from rob wrightHave a few of his books including this series and would highly recommend reading them always enjoy his work

This book had me captivated from page 1, what a brilliant read, highly reccomend , I will be reading the rest of this series

A bit better than Sam but still just meh! Parts were just too far fetched and the end just seemed rushed.I have the rest of the cursed manuscripts to read and am genuinely hoping for one that I can give a better rating to.

This story was better than l expected. The plot was consistent, but the ending had a twist I never saw coming! Well written!!

I very much enjoyed this book. The friendship of Ashley and Jude is a treasure. What they have to face as friends together against bullies, family and crazy adventures is what one would hope from friendship. Then, there is the witch and horrific happenings that grab the reader to continue on. Enjoyable read.

Came here after reading "the room upstairs" ... fancied his storytelling...the novel "witch" is so captivating and has made me want to read the full "cursed manuscripts"....

I started reading this book in the early afternoon and couldn't stop reading. It has the perfect atmosphere, tension and some parts are creepiness at it's best!

This is a new to me author and I will be seeking more of his books out :) check him out.
