Final Incal

Four Stars
a great finale to the Incal series. This is a direct continuation of The Incal, and Before Incal. both of the said book are like a prequel to it. so read those 2 before you read or pick this one up. the order to read is of the publishing:1: the Incal2: before the Incal3: the Final Incal.where the incal can be read as a stand alone. Before Incal and the Final Incal have to be read together. In order to understand what is happening.

Feels different form the other books.
Art is different and the story goes by quicker and is more abrupt then the other books.

Colors of the Incal are gone and it shows
What immediately struck me upon opening the book is how grey it was in tone. Gone are the lively, stimulating colors of The Incal and Before the Incal. I’m not a fan of the artist’s style either. The story itself seemed shallow and rushed compared to both the Incal and Before the Incal. As much as I hate to say it I agree with other readers who said that this was an unnecessary addition .

Decent read
This was a very enjoyable final installment to the epic sci fi series The Incal. As usual the artwork is beautiful and the storyline is strange but I didn’t find it quite as good as Before The Incal or The Incal but consider it required reading if you are a fan of the other installments.

The Incal is like your brain, if your brain were a fried egg.
Good read. The end, like all the entries in the Incal series makes up for an overly spiritual third act.

Great artwork, decent overall plot, terrible characters and dialogue.
The art is fantastic, but probably weighed down by too many panels per page (the panels are very small). The writing is terrible. I don't know how much is lost in translation, but the dialogue is corny and uselessly explains action you can clearly see happening with the art. The characters are too broad and dated.

Big Sigh
Unneeded and a little disappointing. Good art.

Sequel to the Incal
Lovely hardcover book to follow on from the Incal. There is a part finished sequel called After the Incal which I have also read. This one done by a different artist continues the adventures of John DiFool some dream, some real to a suitable conclusion. The art work is lovely and the crazy adventures are mind boggling.

Great story not so much a such a great book
Art and story aside (which I love) this publication has good binding and rigid hard coverThe panels are shrunk down too much for my taste; seems a tad wasteful of the beautiful art.The only major issue was that the ribbon bookmark left a big grey stain down one side of a page.Returned.

Three Stars
I didn't really enjoy the new art style and it seemed more like a retelling of the first.

By far the best intro to Jodorowsky's printed world though
Mental. By far the best intro to Jodorowsky's printed world though. The Starting point.
