I am a little annoyed I had to buy one of these things; why can't the scan tool manufacturer spend the extra quarter to make their cable a usable length? But that did not affect my rating, since the cable does what it should and extends the signal to my reader so I can put it conveniently within the car or bring it out to the engine compartment when performing tests. The reason for knocking off a star is that the cable does not fit very snugly into my reader connection so they part ways if there is extended vibration. This is easily solved with some tape or clever positioning. It might be the reader connection, but I didn't have any issues when connecting directly to the car. If you are going to be doing your own repairs, you will need suitable length and this cable provides it.

This is a must have accessory for the DIY tuner or professional mechanics. Most OBD2 scanner, even the professional models, only have short cable that force you to sit in the drive seat while monitor the ECU. This longer cable allows me the be outside the car and right at the engine while it's running and looking at the scanner display. The long cable also let me sit in the passenger seat and monitor the system while the driver drives the car. I couldn't do that before.I only give this four stars because the connectors are very tight when they first arrive. I don't know if the plastic flashing was blocking the connector but they fit firmly now.

It's not what I thought because picture is not to clear . It won't plug in the unit I have . The one with the blue plug is my original the one on the left is your plug and this will not work with my CP 9180 by Actron . I did not know this until recently when I went to use it and there is there anyway that you would be willing to exchange it for the correct one I'm not asking for a refund just wondering if you can do an exchange for me.

I bought a cheap obd-ii reader for my truck however the reader caused my ABS light to come on as it sent the system into diagnostic mode. The easiest solution was to buy one of these cables and pop the pin out that was causing all the problems. I haven't noticed any issues from using this cable with my obd-ii reader. The cord helps keep me from hitting my shin on the reader when I get in and out of the car, which is great. I leave my reader plugged in 24/7 as I have a dedicated phone in the truck that runs the Torque app. anyone that has purchased an obd-ii bluetooth dongle style reader, should pick up one of these to make their life simpler!
