This was perfect for a teenager's Oscar party. It is heavy, thick paper-like material. I would not use it for an elegant event (wedding) -- but for more informal events, it was durable and fun. It is so thin I could put 1/2 outside my front door, and then run 1/2 inside the house under the door. A light rain outside didn't destroy it (although I did not save it for a second use). One caveat: if you are putting this on hardwood floors, I recommend you use your own adhesive. The tape this came with did a great job -- and I am still scraping off adhesive 6 months later. I am not exaggerating -- I have scrubbed, used Goo Gone, and mopped repeatedly -- and I'm still scraping up little bits of tape every time I clean the floors.

The "carpet" held up well for an 8th grade dance and reception the following day. But when we removed the carpet after the events, the peel-and-stick glue on the bottom of the carpet stayed stuck to the hardwood floor in our Hall where the event was held. Had to scrape the glue off with a sharp plastic scraper, which was a bit of a pain. The glue does hold the carpet in place well, but is quite gummy and will likely leave residue to any hard surface you stick it to.

This Carpet Runner worked wonderfully! We had it down some steps and out on the sidewalk for a birthday party. It held up for 2 days with people walking on it in heels, sneakers, and dress shoes. It's more of an orangey red, but you don't think about that when you see it. The material is not like a carpet at all, but it's definitely not paper, it's like those blue work rags my husband uses in the garage. Tough but thin. It had adhesive on the bottom every few feet so the runner would stay in place. Like I said, we had this outside so we didn't worry about it ruining any floors; I have no idea how it would do on a different surface, but this was on cement. Overall, it looked and worked great for the party, the price was right, it held up really well, and I would definitely order it again if needed. Oh, and the shipping was fairly quick!

We bought this carpet for a daddy daughter dance. It comes rolled up on a roll and protected by a plastic sleeve. The carpet is easy to roll out and cut to make it the correct size. The carpet contains two sided tape on the back that is easy to unpeel and keep in place. The carpet held up throughout the event, even with the girls' heels. The only area that caused problems during the event was the seems between the two pieces (we had it positioned in a "L" shape). The problems afterwards will be discussed later on in my review.The carpet is 24" wide x 15' long, but can be cut to a custom size. The material is polyester, so there are some small holes between the threads of the material. However, they aren't noticeable unless you're looking very closely. The carpet doesn't look like standard carpet, but it doesn't look like paper. It dressed up our walk way and we got a lot of compliments!Now... The event went smoothly, we got lots of compliments on the carpet... As the event ended, we started to peel up the carpet, THE TAPE STUCK TO THE FLOOR! We SPENT HOURS scrubbing the floor, ruining our nicely dressed up nails, trying to get the tape off the floor. Luckily, we were working with tile, but this would have been mess if we put it on the hardwood floor.Yes, the carpet is a nice option for an event on a budget, BUT it is not worth the hours worth cleaning the floor.

This was great. Used it for my sons graduation on my driveway. Stuck to the driveway and did not move. Perfect
