LUCID HD7 Red Dot Sight, Gen III, Tan (HD7-TAN)

For the price, this thing is absolutely awesome. It will do/handle anything a sight that costs triple will do (I'm looking at you, EOTech). 4 reticles, auto brightness (or manually if you so chose), and easy adjustment make me really like this thing on my AR (as well as the look).The only reason this didnt get 5 stars is for 2 small reasons: 1) When I change reticles it has a hard time keeping zero (elevation wise). It cycles reticles veritically, and I wish there was a stronger "click" and stopping area for when its supposed to be at its true zero. Typically, it will stop where it is supposed to but there is a hair of "slop" that will move the reticle a hair up or down when cycling reticles. Its hard to explain, but it takes a few shots to re-zero it. Reason 2) is because its really not tan. It's a greenish tan. I have FDE Magpul furniture on my AR platform, but this sight looks like a perfect blend of Magpuls OD Green AND Flat Dark Earth... Too light for the OD Green, but to dark for the FDE.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase though. Maybe the "zeroing" issue will get better with time as I learn to use it better. For the money, it can't be beat.

This thing is awesome. I reviewed this thing on youtube and online forums until I realized I was reading the same reviews just posted on different websites.All the reviews gave this thing A+ ratings. They say that for your money, this can be the "next best thing" to an EOTech or an Aimpoint. I believe this to be true.I took it out to the range and the red dot sight was already sighted in for 25 yards which was nice. 1-3 inch groupings, I'm not a professional shooter so that is about average for me and does not reflect on the accuracy of the sight.I stepped up to 50 yards and at that distance I had to zero in the sight. This was my first sight I had ever bought. Prior to this my only experience with sights were hunting scopes which have slightly better dials.Anyway, if you are new to sights just be aware that in order to zero in the sight, you will have to make several turns of each dial in order to zero the sight. I thought maybe 2-3 turns for windage and the same for the MOA. Well, to go from 25-50 yards took almost 15-20 turns of each dial so new users be aware of that. I was caught off guard by that so at first I thought there was something wrong with the sight(but being new I was 98% confident something was wrong with the shooter). Nevertheless I kept cranking on it and I was able to zero in at 50.Also, just like the reviews say, once it's zeroed in changing the reticle WILL NOT affect zero.This sight is the real deal and for a couple hundred bucks you can't miss. No pun intended.Oh, also, the title of the scope says Tan, but the sight I received was almost spot on with my FDE furniture.

Just received my lucid hd7 gen 3 and was dispointed that the seller weby shops sent me a used red dot and not to mention that the retical is blurry and not very clear! it's a nice looking sight just not pleased with the seller who also sent a card with it to send back to lucid for repairs.

Internals are same as the big boys , made by same co. I had trouble with aimpoints seeing red dot due to a bad eye. Strangely I had no problems with this one. Liked so much I ORDERED another . Once word really gets out they will be hard to get and need another for 2nd hunting ar. I used silicone on frt and rear screws ( cotton swab ) for kill flash and scope magnifier coming. Use a good quality car wax or rain dance wind shield treatment on lenses and you have one heck of a scope ready for anything.

This is a great product for the money. If your shipping out on duty... stick with the ACOG but for the range, hunting, self or home defense this is the one you want, buy or build yourself another rifle with the money you have left over. If you have problems with the unit send it back to amazon for a new one NOT the manufacturer like they request!

The updates on the Gen III are just what it needed. Got it zeroed in with less then 20 rds. Seems to keep zero very well. I use it for SWAT.

Loving it for the price!
