First Casio G shock-Square. Prob won’t be last
Honestly, I’ve always collected vintage Swiss and Russian pieces. I’m a big fan as well of some modern models here and there mechanical and automatic… but something drew me in to this square. I’ll talk about why. The pure utility of it is hard to beat. You know there’s that exact time you get from it and it’s perfect every time I check it. That’s really just easy and convenient for me. I also now like the look of the smaller Casio g shocks like this. It has the moon phase and ride which I enjoy looking at and also the date is shown and it just makes it really easy to stay on top of time and check it frequently. I also like the ability to set 4 different timers which is useful. This is the only digital watch I own and I really think for the money this things great. It’s not a watch for smug individuals it’s a watch that looks good for being digital and should be worn be a man that doesn’t care what others think. Sometimes I don’t want to always wear my zenith el primero or Raketa’s new Zero dial.. and that’s where this watch comes in. I actually like the setup and the durability is fine for a digital watch. There’s something nostalgic now about a proper Casio g shock watch and I like it. So far this watch has been worn the money no doubt. The directions are in Japanese so I suggest going online and learning the little things that will help you operate this Japanese edition G shock to your liking and get down the basics and what you find necessary in your digital watch. Look it’s a Casio G Shock and it’s not a flex.. it’s for the laid back crowd and your watch should be something you enjoy wearing. Who cares about what others think all the time.. if that’s you then go buy a Gold Rolex president, be that guy and don’t even bother with this Casio. To the rest of you who aren’t into being pretentious about your watch drip I recommend this square. It’s been a fun watch to wear for the last 6 weeks for me.

A classic look--the "square"--with tide graph and some color.
My first and only planned square. (I find it ironic that a watch tough enough to be your last lends itself to people buying more than they could ever wear...myself completely included, so I will resist any more purchases.) I have two other G-shocks and a ProTrek, and I bought this because it reminds me of my grandfather, who I recall may have worn the square since it was invented. Except this one has the tide graph, a feature he would be happy to have if he lived and fished where I do! ... The inventor of G-Shock is still wearing three colors of the first square model, so this honestly could be the last watch I need.Specific to this model, let's talk about the high gloss: I would have preferred a flat or matte finish for the band (agnostic about the bezel). To be sure, this is HIGH GLOSS, as glossy as you can get. But I'll say it doesn't look as bad on me as I expected. HOWEVER, if I or someone else wants to swap for another band, there are many, many options. One question I don't see clearly asked or answered is the band can be swapped with almost any other in the 5600 line, maybe even 5610. Do a search for "band compatibility" and the website shockbase.org--they have a full list. Then there are non-Casio aftermarket bands with adapters for NATO straps, etc. Would recommend ensuring high quality brand and durability. That said, for the bezel, it seems you can only swap with the other GWX-5600 variations. The buttons on this model are slightly different than most 5600s.

Great G-Shock Square, highly recommended.
I picked this square g shock mainly because unlike the GWM 5610, you can see the main time on the timer mode and stopwatch mode, and even on the alarm mode. The watch also has world time, atomic timekeeping, and it's solar powered. It took a little while to get the battery to high when I took it out for a spin, so it needed about an hour or so of continuous sunlight exposure. The battery has been on high ever since. The tide and moon graph is pretty accurate, or it at least is accurate enough that you get a general idea of what the tides will be like. The Moon graph is pretty accurate, as well. The timer is pretty interesting because the things you can do with it are cool. You get your regular timer plus a second one that you can set up to countdown after the first one does. Each one does up to 100 minutes or so, so it's almost like you have 2 timers. Or you can use one timer to go off 10 times. Say you need your timer to go off every 40 minutes in 10 intervals. That means you get a 40 minute alarm ten times. Hopefully the way I'm explaining it makes sense. Anyway, you have to get this watch in your hands to really understand it.If you really care about the current time being displayed in the stopwatch, timer, and alarm mode, then buy this watch. But if you wanna save money and don't care whether the current time doesn't show anywhere except in timekeeping mode, then the GWM 5610 is good, too.

Reloj muy pequeño
El reloj es demasiado pequeño y los botones son incómodos para cambiar de funciones del reloj

Sought after
I’ve been eyeing this model for a long time and it does not disappoint. I like the tide and the moon features and it makes the watch look great. I didn’t like the shiny straps but they’re easy to replace. Replaced with a titanium strap and bezel mod.
