I wanted eight GU10 fittings that could be tilted for light direction but as many of the sets only come as a set of six, I would have had to order two sets. These fittings come with ten complete units so I even have two spares and this offers good value.On opening, these are nicely finished in a white powder coat with no defects or marks that I can see. This set comes with everything that is needed to fit or to replace existing fittings.The tilt on these is only on one axis so they will need to be turned for the correct direction of the light, I would have preferred a double axis pivot but they tend to come up larger and since I wanted to keep them as small as possible I opted for these.I am fitting these to a laminate drop ceiling and I have come across one small problem, the retaining springs on these units are quite strong so if I need to take the fitting out again it is very hard to do without damaging the plastic around the holes. Ideally these would be used in a standard plasterboard ceiling however I am going to remove and alter the springs to make them less powerful so that they suit my needs, this will also make them easier to turn for the light direction.When fitting these, they do require a larger hole size than for a fixed GU10 so I had to order a new hole saw for the job, that aside these are pretty easy to install. The harness that comes with these has the bulb holder at one end and a block connector at the other which is concealed in a block for safety and a retaining ring is included to secure the bulb in place.Very nice fittings for a plaster ceiling and good value.

Compared with other brands of GU10 Fitting, the one bought in Bojim does not need to be used with a 220V transformer. It has a terminal blocks and an additional junction box, and a white silicone wire protection case, which looks really good!

These downlights are made of strong, high-quality metal with a matt white plastic anti-rust coating, and with an inner tilting mechanism, again in white metal/plastic, so you can direct the beam of light directly downwards, or tilt it at a 30 degree angle to illuminate a feature in the room. They are designed to accept any kind of LED bulb of the GU10 type, ie: mini bayonet connection. The LED bulbs are not included and you will have to purchase them separately. GU 10 bayonet-type bulbs are available in various forms… straight LEDs, or Halogen, dimmable, smart bulbs, spotlights or wide beam bulbs, coloured bulbs, etc. so you can fit which ever type of bulb suits your décor.In the box you get ten LED bulb swivel units with double strong spring retaining clips incorporated, plus ten bulb holders, plus 10 fine circular retaining clips. The bulb holders are made of electrically safe ceramic material and connect to an individual plastic terminal box via a 6 inches long (=150mm) sheathed heat-resisting cable. The terminal box has modern snap-on electrical connectors, so to connect to the electricity source all you have to do is bare the electrical wire, put it in the hole and snap it tight. No bolt screwing/tightening with an electrical screwdriver is necessary. This is the modern way to make electrical connections. This design seems to be much safer than the conventional brass terminal blocks in rival manufacturers downlight systems…. an impressive detail.These LED downlights are especially suitable for plasterboard ceilings with a 4 to 6 inch void (=100 to 150mm). You need the void to dissipate any heat given out by the LEDS. There will not be much heat, but it is wise to allow space in which it can dissipate safely. There are no fitting instructions provided in the box, so how do you fit the LED downlights? First, you have to cut a circular hole in the ceiling board 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter (=250 to 300 mm) and make the electrical connection before fitting into the hole the LED downlight unit with the springs in the up position. Immediately the springs snap down tightly against the plasterboard and the unit is held firmly in place. The LED bulb itself is then bayonet fitted and held in place by the circular clip…. and you are finished, that is all there is to it.There are 10 downlights in the box so you are buying in bulk at a discount. The price works out about £2.70 each, which is quite cheap for downlights of this quality of manufacture. There is a 2 year warranty.They look good in most ceilings.

A great set of down lights, all well packed and fully intact upon arrival.They are a lot smaller than I expected them to be, but I know understand that they are the standard size of downlights, I’ve just never actually seen them before they are installed before.My husband is an electrician so he found these simple to install, but I wouldn’t have a clue myself, so if you aren’t familiar with installing these kind of light fittings then you might need some help from someone with a bit more knowledge or experience.They are absolutely beautiful when fitted and create such a modern and warm ambience in the room.Something as simple as adding spotlights like these can really transform your home; at a great price.

These lights look good now that they are installed and work well. Unfortunately we had to change all of the terminal blocks. The ones supplied with the lights were the push in type, which is what I wanted, but the springs were really weak and wouldn’t hold the cables in place. We changed them all for screw in block which was annoying at the time.
