One of the best reads I have ever had!
This is a brilliant book about one of the largest companies in the world. It runs you through many decades the company has existed and shows you it through the lens of US politics and the economy. The author is going in-depth into so many divisions/markets and describes them so thoroughly that you really feel that you learning a lot from reading it. It is a factual book, but it reads like a triller. I love the author's writing style and his teasers at the end of each chapter of what is coming next. Honestly, it is a delight. Five stars from me!

Hard to separate the businessman from the citizen. For me, brilliant businessman, lousy citizen
I read this off of the heels of Democracy in Chains. An excellent read BTW. I wanted a deeper dive into the ultra-right Libertarian businessman and his design on our Democracy. I found Kock to be a brilliant businessman. That is hard to deny. I also found him to be profoundly unaccountable for what he creates in the world outside of his dynasty. Everything he does seems to be justified as long as it maximizes his profit and eliminates the taxes he might pay. Particularly if those taxes support anything that might negate the suffering or provide support of those who are at the mercy of corporations. His political machine and the wealth he uses to overthrow our democracy is a bit unnerving. He makes Milton Friedman look like a liberal. If you also believe that those with wealth should set all policy and make all the decisions in our democracy, and that the majority should have no right to "property rights of the minority wealthy", then you will love Charles Koch's work and mission. I personally am keynesian and what I have been witnessing as the outcome of this man's mission in life is horrible. With that said, an excellent read and quite revealing.

Corporate Power schlechthin
Richtig interessantes Buch was Unternehmensentwicklung, Die Macht des Geldes, Corporate Power etc angeht.

Lengthy and Without Focus
There is no focus on this book and the writing style is unnecessarily lengthy. It’s a torture reading through the book and unfortunately there’s no summary of it online, probably because of how horrendous this book is.
