I bought this to replace a plastic one that I'd had for a few years which tended to go green no matter how regularly I changed the filter and gave it a good clean.This stainless steel one seems to stay fresher for longer and I feel like I can properly sterilise it.All 3 of my cats took to it immediately, the fountain is quiet and keeps the water flowing nicely. I've been able to purchase replacement filters easily enough and they are very easy to replace.The fountain has a USB cable which plugs into a standard UK USB plug.

UPDATEAfter posting this review I received a message from PetLibro customer service who very kindly offered to send me a new fountain which is apparently an upgraded design. It is a different product as it is not stainless steel, but I was very appreciative of the contact and the support offered. I have now received the new fountain, but have not used it because I had already bought a replacement fountain from another supplier. Therefore I cannot review the replacement fountain, but I am pleased with the customer service from PetLibro in reaching out to me and offering a replacement. I have upgraded my review to 4 stars due to the customer service, but I think it is important that my original review and rating of the product continues to carry some weight.Incidentally I have been on holiday and during that time received several chaser emails from PetLibro customer services asking me to update my review - even after I explained I was on holiday! - so while I do appreciate their willingness to provide a replacement product, I do not appreciate being nagged to update my review as a result!ORIGINAL REVIEWI purchased this item around 1.5 years ago and am now on my fourth water pump as they have constantly failed despite regular careful cleaning. The fountain itself is a good design and easy to clean. The filters aren't cheap but are easy to fit. Unfortunately the plastic hinge on the filter container lid broke some months ago and while it usually holds if I push it into place, I do sometimes find the lid and filter floating around in the fountain base.The real problem does seem to be the water pump. I accept that these do have a limited life but to go through four in 18 months seems excessive. The first two simply burned out and stopped working despite being cleaned regularly. The third was overactive and sent too much water through the spout too quickly for it to drain through the filter. I couldn't seem to reduce this. We are now on the fourth and it too seems very temperamental - sometimes it is fine, other times it dribbles water through. This is the case regardless of the water level (which we always ensure is between min and max). The cost of buying replacement pumps is outweighing the benefit of the stainless steel housing so I am now going to try a different brand.

We ordered this fountain after exhaustive searching for a cat fountain which wasn't ugly. I wanted something from a 'mainstream brand' like PetLibro or Catit so it would be easy to order filters in the future. This wasn't a super cheap fountain but it looks great, my cat loves drinking from it and it is easy to assemble and clean. Be mindful that it stops working temporarily when the water level goes to low, so always keep it topped up. My cat drinks so much and I'm so pleased.

My cat is very particular: she gets chin acne from plastic and noise puts her off easily. Which is why this fountain is ideal for her, because it's easy to clean and super quiet. The only drawbacks I see are: 1) I have do disconnect the whole long cable to clean the fountain, it'd be nice to have a cable that disconnects somewhere in the middle so I don't have to reach into the wall socket each time 2) even though there is min and max water level, the fountain barely works when the water level is close to min, it has to be pretty much at max to keep the water pressure up. I need to top mine up almost every day to keep the pump running properly. No regrets buying and will recommend this product to everyone who needs a pet fountain.

This is certainly the best and most quiet cat fountain I’ve ever bought. Yes, it was expensive, but I think it was worth it - or would have been, if my cat would use it!He doesn’t like filtered water, so will persevere once the first filter is worn out. I know it’s just my cat being stubborn, especially since he doesn’t want me to turn it off & watches with interest as I clean it ( which us very easy to do.)Being stainless steel, it’s so much better than plastic. All I need is for my cat to use it. Give it time, he might.
