Great option to mount various sized items....
Overall impressed in the day that I have had this. Bought one for myself and one for my partner as a gift. I have an iPhone 4 in a CaseMate Carbon Fiber holster sliding case. Was on the hunt for a car mount adapter that did not require me to remove the iPhone from its case in order to use each time. Found it of sorts. Will say that the "stem" portion seems to be very well-built. The goose-neck is tight and may be hard to position, but I think that is a good thing given other flimsy feeling goose-neck products in the past. The cup size adjustment mechanism works like it should, and fits my 2003 Subaru Baja perfectly with just a few turns. The cradle for what ever you put in it seems to be well-built. Holding out on a 5-star rating because I felt the ratchet mechanism to old the iP{hone in place could be an issue - IF I tightened it to hold it firmly in place, in as much that it would not slide out easily. So far with the CaseMate case I mentioned - I won't to have the grip as tight as I thought and the iPhone will slide out easily - but with enough of a snug fit. As of right now I bought the Cup-it for the iPhone to being used as a GPS with the MotionX Drive GPS app. I use earbuds when driving for cell phone calls. Which brings me to my lament - not a killer, hence the 4 stars. In the past I have done traveling that put me in rental cars. Some states prohibit the use of windshield GPS mounts. Never found a portable dashboard GPS that was effective or light in weight. This seemed to be a perfect solution. And it is sort of - only for such a short and strong goose-neck. For my partners Yaris - this should be no problem for their Sirus radio using the fold out cup holders at each end of the dashboard. But for those of us that will want to use the Cup-it in the floorboard cup holders - one has to take their eyes more briefly off the road for those of us less than optimal viewing situation if you wear eyeglasses. I would so much buy a Cup-it XL that had at least an extra foot of goose-neck for those that want to use floorboard cup holders to give a better viewing angle for on the fly viewing and adjustments of our iTunes music.Other than that so for my first day out with it, very happy with it. My co-workers were also intrigued by it. They thought it was a review unit that I got. LOL I only wish. And thought it was a new item that we would be carrying. We work in a camera store. So that says a bunch for tech geeks liking such a simple item IMO.Hopefully I can add images later to this review.

The Grip-iT Grips It Well
To put it simply, this product works as advertised. I find it attaches fairly easily to the air vents, but removing it can be tricky (a third hand would be helpful) but not too bad. Probably too much of a hassle to remove whenever you're parking your car, so any ne'er-do-wells will see that you carry something with you when driving and may hope that it's still in the car.Aside from that, it is pretty secure, though I do wonder if it jiggling (it clips on to a single vent part, with a spacer at the bottom which doesn't attach to anything) will wind up damaging the vent it's attached to. Time will tell, but so far it seems fine. For the price, it's not a bad purchase (I wouldn't pay more than $10 or $11 for this). If this item for some reason goes up to its full MSRP, I think you could probably find a more economical solution. It has a pivot point in the back that you can tighten, however I am too paranoid to use that while it's mounted (afraid of torquing the back too much and snapping the vent), so I just leave it upright. Also, DO NOT attach it to the top vent louver, as those tend to be more narrow, meaning it is -much- more difficult to remove from there. It would be nice if the two bottom braces stuck out further, as they really only tend to act like a ski jump for whatever you have sitting in there until you squeeze the brace to hold it.Editing to add this after having used it for a year or so:My phone has fallen out of it several times now. Thankfully no real damage has been done to the phone. The "problem" is that when you squeeze it together, there are teeth or something that holds the brace in position based on how far you squeeze it together. You can't really feel this, so you squeeze it together and it stays and you think all is good until you hit a bump and the phone goes sailing off the ski jump bottom. You really need to squeeze this pretty hard to get it to hold the phone snugly, and if you don't pay extra attention to that, you may notice that even though the sides appear to be pushed in far enough to be snug, they're not.Again, it's probably worth the $10ish dollars I spent on it. You get what you pay for.Editing again a few months after my last edit. It finally broke to the point of not being usable. Considering the price, I guess a year and a half isn't a bad run.

Good for small phones only.
It is difficult to choose a coffee cupholder to fit a particular car from the description on Amazon. Location of the cupholders and its relation to the dash and shifter vary from car to car. I needed one for my 2016 RAV 4 and another for my wife's Acura RDX 2013. I bought 3 different models all costing less than 30 dollars. Two other products fit very well in my and her car. This coffee cupholder is a little flimsy and I would only recommend it for a SMALL 5-inch phone. The packaging is in plastic enclosure. I am keeping it and offer to a friend whose has a 5-inch smartphone whereas ours are over 6"

I bought this product for attaching my parking assist video screen after its original stand broke after using it for almost 4 years. I am using it for last one month and the product is working fine. I have attached it to my windshield and it has not dislodged even a single time from windshield. The grip is really good. The product quality is quite good. Although the part which attaches with the windshield with a long neck is quite hard so if someone needs to move in different directions frequently, it might take effort and won't b easy while driving but the advantage is this hardness makes it quite sturdy on the other hand. Overall I am quite happy with the product.

Amazing & Great product! It's a must buy one!!!
I got the product from Blue Vega @Rs.455/-. The best price I ever seen again in any online websites after buying this Grip-it! Though it's of Made in China, it is of a premium quality! Not like other Chinese low quality/low price products! It is far better than any other local products. The moment I unpacked this, I was sure that this is an amazing product. Though it looks expensive compared to products available at local mobile shops as it's quality is of a top notch. Very happy after buying it. Fits/Grips well to the windshield/ glass as well as to the mobile device. It has 360 degree rotation capability which is a great advantage while navigating.

Good tool
I use this for my phone which adapted to use for music through the radio. Great holder to keep it out of the way an still have access to the screen without fumbling while driving. Also use holder for receiving speakerphone calls in a more relaxed way than working with a loose phone. The first item when received had a broken bracket. (the ratchet would not work)This was replaced by the company immediately. I received new one within a week. This bracket does not have and internal spring to open it but opens by repeatedly pushing the button on the side to ratchet it. I have had Gomadic brackets before and at a single push of the button on the side open wide. This may what leads to the difference in price. Other than that the brackets appear identical. So it is a matter of preference.

There are Chinese products and then there are cheap Chinese products. This one, though it's Made in China, is of a very good quality. The plastic quality is very good and you know this the moment you touch it.It grips very well to the windshield and the phone too fits in nicely. The flexible goose-neck is a bit stiff, but that's not a big issue. It's worth paying some extra money and buying this one rather than buying a cheap one which costs - 250 around. I had one which broke easily when slight pressure was applied. Plastics quality was bad in the 250 one.I am very satisfied with this product and recommend this to anyone who looks for quality first and then price.
