Meh, will try a different brand in the future
I bought these for Encaustic painting the bristles come out really easily and there are cheaper ones that work better imo.

Hake brushes for shellac
These brushes are very soft, and they hold a lot a liquid. I'm a hobbyist woodwoodorker, and I mix my own shellac (2# cut). I bought these brushes for applying the shellac as a finish on my projects. So far, I've only used the littlest brush. I don't know about cleaning the brushes. Because of the nature of shellac, if the brush gets hard, I can just dip it in alcohol, and it's ready to go. So, for my specific purpose, I'm finding the hake brushes enjoyable to use, and I'm happy with the results I'm getting.

The brushes work well.
The brushes are sturdy. There is minimal shedding. I try to remove loose hairs prior to painting which helps. The brushes help to blend out brush strokes in my paintings.

A sheddy brush
For the price these are ok. They're kinda like trying to paint with a cat though...hair every where.

Shed hair like a Huskey in summer
What appears to be a great deal actually will ruin your artwork.I worked with all 6, and each of the six exhibit the same issue, the bristles fall out. Not just one or two, but dozens embedded in the paint on the canvas. I spent hours reworking one canvas to pull out all the hairs and then smooth over the spots.Hard pass on this - and I'm returning the entire set as defective.

Sheds
I was hoping to replace similar brushes I lost in a fire. The first thing I noticed is how much these brushes shed. They’re cheap - because they’re cheap. I think for this particular style of brush, you get what you pay for. Don’t pay for these.

Hake bristle shedders
These Flat Hake brushes are budget-grade and shed bristles in use, so if you can tolerate that while working, you’ll be happy with them.If you find that an issue – which I do – buy better ones.
