If you have the kinetic sand construction site box, this is a good add-on as the amount of sand is a good fist full and is black for some color fun. The road roller is fun on its own or with the sand. I always found the road roller less common in construction vehicle sets. And it is good for use with playdoh as well.We couldn't go to the beach recently so we got this for son this Christmas. He loved it ( he also has a thing for black playdoh). Kinetic sand is essentially sand, so it is softer and easier to mold in the hands of young toddler.I dont have carpeted floors so while that makes it easy to play with the sand anywhere, one needs to be cautious when walking on the affected areas. Kinetic sand contains oil so it does make the floor slippery. Cleaning efforts include pushing the bits together to collect the sand and recombine it which is great but also makes the floor surface worse. If it gets on the carpet, it is easier to vacuum them up.
