Provided insights into an important scientist
Fairly simplified but fascinating story on the beginnings of Western science with maybe just a touch too much Christian religiosity for my taste, but hey, maybe that was the way things were in those days. That minor distraction was easy to circumvent and I enjoyed the tale. Good read.

Not what I had in mind
This is a very curious book. It is a specifically Christian biography, emphasising the subject’s religion over his scientific achievements. It is also unsophisticated - it Is told as a story and there is no real historical context, or discussion of the sources and what is known vs what is artistic licence. Yet the reading age (in terms of words per page) is probably quite high (9 or 10).

Excellent reading for elementary age and older
Excellent reading for elementary age and older. Using the books in this series for home schooling - students are eager to read them and share what they've learned. Manner of writing paints vivid pictures of the characters and their environments, of the economic and social structures of that time period, and the far-reaching effects of the main character's works.

Intriguingly well-written
This book was hard to put down. It is well-written and engaging. I recommend this for young adults and adults alike. This is a very interesting piece of Christian history as well as the history of science.
