May require some hacking
When I first used this with my car's cassette tape player, the player constantly ejected the adapter. The fix is to open up the adapter (just requires some unscrewing) and take out the gear that has a rubber O-ring on it. There are youtube videos that explain this, just search for something like "How to Fix Constantly Ejecting Cassette Adapter ".After this, it worked fine.Another thing to be aware of is that when the adapter is in the deck, it makes some mechanical noise as the gears inside the adapter are constantly turning. For me this was not loud enough to be a problem.

Did not receive same item; misrepresented, swapped or by error
My reason for (re)purchasing this specific product was the coiled cord. Either an inattentive fulfillment or a swap, I was sent the wrong device. Device is going right back until such time as can be assured of the correct model can be supplied. My experience with model (as shown: cassette adapter, coiled cord, 3.5mm jack) was decent - a tad noisy at low volumes, but performed consistently. And *key* to my previous satisfaction, it opererated and stored ideally; out of the way, with no surplus of (straight) cords to bundle, tuck or to lay all over.Instead of what's pictured and purchased, I received a fully different model - an adapter with straight cord and an unecessary AC lighter adapter kit. And an big ugly wad of straight cords.Don't know if they'd simply tried to send the next similar item, or made an error. That coiled cord was magic, Johnny-On-The-Spot. Out of the way, eyes on the road, no excess. Never a tangle. Boo on this mess.

Feels a little flimsy, but works great
Love this simple gadget for listening to music from my cellphone through car speakers Had a little trouble at first with the plug, but it's a tight fit - just push hard. Adapter has a small tab that you flip to adjust cable for either a front- or side-load deck. Cable is a bit short and spiral - may not work for some, but extends enough to reach my cellphone on the dashboard (about 12"). Sound is great - no static or hissing. Great buy!11/16/18: it's dead. Even at such a cheap price, I expected it to last more than 3 months (particularly since it was only used a few times a week). Something wrong with the jack - if you wiggle it, the sound is better; if you let go, it goes back to a faint, hollow sound. Not worth any money.

Good thing to have in car
For vehicles that don't equip with bluetooth this is a must have!

Does its job
This adapter works perfectly fine. We use it in the truck's cassette player. The sound quality is great since you can still adjust sound settings on the panel. Can't beat the price!

After a few months: best option available and definitely worth the $$.
Makes an awful mechanical sound in the tape-deck that even a cheaper one that I got from the dollar store didn't make. WASTE OF MONEY! OVERPRICED! I'm gonna try the maxell one, then I'm giving up.EDIT: actually after buying the maxell, that one was even worse. This led me to believe that is my tape deck, not the tape itself. Actually, of all the ones I've tried, this one out-performs all the rest, plus it's got a coiled wire which keeps it from dangling everywhere. Highly recommended, definitely the best one I've found buying online and in retail stores. My apologies for the premature negative feedback earlier!

Why is it so hard to find these tape deck inputs in decent quality? I spend five bucks more on this one to bc i've wasted a lot of time on cheaper ones that stop working way too soon.Best features:- sound quality. I wasn't really looking for improved sound but i realized how crappy the other adapters were upon using this one.- the audio jack cord is coiled. Seems like a small thing, but it adds so much durability and makes handling my phone a neater process.

Great sound.
I have a 2004 vehicle with a CD/Cassette player. This is a great product for me to use when I want to listen to my downloaded Spotify playlists from my phone. There doesn't seem to be any sound quality issues for me. It sounds just like if I were playing a CD. My phone is an LG V10. Prolong its life by taking it out of the deck when not in use and keep it out of the sunlight.
