Not what was pictured
Edit: The company provided quick turnaround on my return and refund, and they gave an explanation for why the picture didn't match the product received, which I appreciate. I've edited my review to reflect this. If you do order this, expect to receive what I photographed, not the advertised picture: What I received is their current product since they made an intentional change to it, according to their email to me.Review: The advertised seat strap shown in the picture is very different from the one I received. I'm disappointed. After requesting a refund and getting a timely response, they assured me the change was due to an intentional change in construction because this new design's clasp works better than their old snap hook thingy. Here's hoping they change the picture soon.My issues with the seat strap, besides just not getting what was pictured, involve the construction of the strap itself. A well-constructed strap can look better, be easier to use and juggle in confined spaces, and prevent breakage which can ultimately be dangerous. Experience has taught me that it's important for a strap to be well-constructed with the right parts.--------The DifferencesThe advertised strap looks like decent quality leather; the one I received is flimsy on top and fuzzy on the bottom, with imperfect edges and an unfinished look to it. It already has creases in and waves to it, and the edges aren't evenly cut all along the length, and those flaws will only get worse which could lead to breakage/rips/lumps. It won't get more flat or supple or sturdy, and the fuzz is shedding rather messily. Yikes. The advertised strap has tapered leather at the end with the D-ring; the one I received is not tapered, which will wear on the leather and doesn't look as good. Already, the leather is stretched out and creasing where it loops through the D-ring, which can lead to rips or breakage. The advertised strap shows 3 points of attachment where the leather overlaps after looping through the D-ring; the one I received only has 2 points of attachment, which is just less sturdy construction. If one of the connections fails, it's more of a problem. The advertised strap shows that the leather itself at those should-be-3 attachment points is shaped like a rounded triangle leaving no excess leather to the sides; the one I received has just the straight end of the strap bending outward where it hangs past the 2 attachment points, which can snag and start to degrade the connections, plus it looks inelegant. The advertised strap has a spring clip/snap clip hook, which can be snapped on one-handed and still holds a bassoon even if the clip fails; the one I received has a bolt snap, which looks less sleek and can be more difficult to attach one-handed. The bolt snap on the strap I received must be attached face-down or it can fail open, but attaching it face-down is difficult to do quickly, almost impossible for me to attach one-handed without laying my bassoon across my lap, and it is very loose in its alignment already: it probably wouldn't take long for the spring to give out or allow the ring to slip through. (Note: The company explained the change of clip type is on purpose because they found better success with the clip I received, so I'll leave the decision of whether a "dog leash clip" is best for you.)I wouldn't trust my bassoon to this, but it also isn't the worst I've seen. If nothing else, I hope they take down the misleading picture!

Good strap. To connect to the bassoon
Good strap. To connect to the bassoon, place a 1.5 to 2inch ring on the bassoon to make easy connections
