2.2 gpm (red) aerator is not 2.2 gpm
I have a white Delta faucet that is about 8 years old. The aerator was a bit clogged up so I thought rather than clean it out, I would replace it. I found this red 2.2 gpm aerator on Amazon and ordered it. It arrived about 30 minutes ago, but to my great surprise, it is not red, but green. These things are color-coded. Red means 2.2 gpm. Green is a lower rating, I believe 1.5 gpm, but it could also be 1.2 gpm. I opened the envelope it came in, installed it on my faucet, and then filled up a gallon milk jug, timing it as best I could. I got about 50 seconds. I then reinstalled my old 2.2 stock aerator, and got about 30 seconds. MUCH faster! Yes, something is not right here! The little shipping envelope says "2.2 gpm." The aerator itself has 2.2 gpm printed on it. But it sure as heck isn't 2.2 gpm! The green color is a red flag (pun) for me.Back it goes!

Works Great, Looks Great, Install Tip included...
I bought this for a late '50s American Standard bathroom sink faucet. The brass is a nice touch at the end of the faucet. It looks great! The 2.2 gpm flow is perfect if you actually want to rinse something in the sink. When installing, here's a quick tip. After you remove the old aerator clean the inside of the faucet well with a paper towel and some household cleaner. You might be surprised with the amount of gunk that's been accumulated up there. Rinse everything well and then dry up the inside of the faucet. Next step, take the black rubber gasket and stuff it up into the faucet well. Then screw the new aerator on the faucet. Sometimes it a lot easier to stuff that gasket up there first, rather than putting it on top of the aerator and then having to compress it while turning the new piece. Hope that helps!

Much less flow than the 2.2GPM it replaced
I bought this because my old Delta 400 faucet with the original aerator started to “spit” water. It was not the washer, but some issue with the water stream. This product is listed as a direct Delta replacement and 2.2 GPM same rating as the one on the faucet. When I installed it, the column of water was straight and tight, but way smaller, less flow than the original aerator. This, despite the exact same GPM rating on the metal piece.I pulled the new aerator apart, split the restrictor, and swapped it for the top part from the original aerator. Now I have a smooth column of water and the volume of water is the same as before. So this part probably does not flow 2.2 GPM.

PERFECT FIT, HIGHEST WATER FLOW!!!
Bought one of this original to replace the bathroom sink with horrible water flow.Shaving my face took me forever, since the water flow was so week, it could not clean out the razor blades. You also get a better hand wash with this, since it actually knocks all of the soap off your hands, no more residue from soap.I liked this so much, ordered 2 more for kitchen sink ( knocks all of the food off of the dishes now easily ) and other bathroom, now I get great strong streams of water everywhere!Once you try this, you will not use anything else.I will 100% order more in the future, If I move to a new place.

It's Like I Have a Brand New Faucet
I knew the aerator on my Delta Pilar Waterfall faucet was clogged so I removed it and flushed it to my best ability. No visible particles could be seen and couldn't see how to disassemble it completely.I ordered this replacement but was afraid I'd need a totally new faucet - my old faucet had terrible water flow, spray pattern and dribbled for several seconds after shutting it off.Fortunately, this aerator came today and when I swapped out the old one, it's like I have a brand new faucet. Perfect spray pattern and absolutely no dribbling after shutting off the handle. This literally saved me nearly $250!

Proper Replacement
The faucet, in one of our bathrooms, began 'issuing' small black particles whenever the faucet was operated. Upon removal of the aerator, I found that the screen had deteriorated with the passage of time (19+ years). This new aerator fit the faucet completely and works as it should. This was a simple fix for a common problem.

Very Nice Looking!!
We have brass faucets and the aerator portion had lost its brass. That made our faucets look old. I was about to order new faucets but decided to simply replace the aerator. They now look good again and I saved money. This aerator looks better than the original one when it was new. Very happy!!

Worked well to replace an old filter with hard water.
Used to replace the aerator in my kitchen sink. We have some pretty hard water and a new one was necessary. I tried soaking the old one in white vinegar which did help but this was necessary to restore our water pressure. Be advised that this is 2.2 GPM aerator vs the lower 1.2 GPM aerator. Most stores I tried shopping at locally did NOT have a 2.2 GPM version only the 1.2 GPM. Make sure you know what your current one is to know if it will help with your water pressure. I highly recommend
