Impressive performance
I did a sub upgrade from an acoustic audio psw-10. I was expecting a difference but when I heard it, what a big difference. Made me think that what I had was not a real sub. I think the best I can describe is that with the AA I could hear the sub but with the elac I can feel it. With the AA I could hear it fill the space where I was but with the elac I can hear the bass all over the room. It is still breaking in but I hear deeper notes that i didnt hear before. The music drums feel like in a concert. It also integrated way better with my q acoustics 3010 since the bass now feels like it is coming out of the speakers rather than localized.Yes, the app is problematic at first. They did provide a usb stick for updating to the latest firmware and I had to do many things like manually searching for the bluetooth sub in the bluetooth settings of the phone and then looking for it in the app. But now it just works. And I can hear the difference after the auto eq. It is not a gimmick. The best thing is that I got it in a deal for $229.

My first Elac Product and I'm very satisfied
I was looking to upgrade from a budget 10" sub to get more low bass out of action movies and for music listening. Space and placement options limited my choices to a small box size. On reading reviews mentioning the Sub 3010 with its passive radiator and how they can have decent low bass with that small footprint I need, I decided to pull the trigger and get one during the recent sale. Setup next to the right front speaker it gives exactly what I was looking for in bass response. Low enough to get the most of movies sound tracks and nicely weighted bass for music listening.Edit: 2 years later after buying a 2nd Sub3010 along with a Denon 950 AVR equipped with basic Audyssey I'm in heaven. Initial setup showed a broad dip of 10db between 70 and 90Hz for the combined subs. Using the delay feature on the Elac app I set a 1ms delay on the second sub which is to the side of the listening position and much closer than the other sub. Audyssey now shows a narrow dip between 70 and 80Hz of about 7db before correction, otherwise the response is basically flat at +/- 3 db between 30 and 150Hz according to the app. That Elac makes a sub at this price point with the adjustment capabilities it has makes setup easy for those that want to tweak for best performance in their room. No expensive equipment or vast technical knowledge needed.

Not for movies.
Maybe because I was too excited about its bookshelf and floor standing brothers.I bought this despite all the negative reviews, but I'm letting it go now. It works fine for music, but not for movies. The app for the woofer works very well though.I am going for svs sb 2000 pro instead.

Great sounding subwoofer: frustrating control app
First of all, this subwoofer is solid and extremely well built. Its understated styling will blend in with most room styles. Bass is deep and the amp is powerful enough to shake the house. You'd think that deserves a five star rating... HOWEVER, you can only adjust it using the app which has got to be one of the most frustrating experiences a piece of stereo equipment ever gave me.Since there are no adjustments on the subwoofer itself, you have no choice but to use the app (ELAC sub control 3.0) which DID NOT work with the latest Android version and a Google Pixel 6. The BT connection cycled infinitely and never discovered the sub. After reading the review by Kyle J., I dug out my old Samsung S7 with an older Android version and loaded v2.0 of the app. Eureka! Success! The app connected and I was able to run the room response measurements and implement the auto-equalizer to compensate for some noticeable room nulls.ELAC made a wonderful subwoofer at a very reasonable price but their app is worthless as currently available. The "Support" from their website is laughable so don't expect any help there. You shouldn't have to dig out years-old phones to load an old app version to get a brand new piece of equipment to work! Get your act together, ELAC! You have so much to offer.EDIT after App update: The latest update solves the Android connection problems I complained about originally. Good job, ELAC!
