I’m a New Yorker who is used to just enough multiple doors & locks between me and outside “elements”. Lately I have been visiting the home of a new beau in the south where two of the three entrance doors step right out to the outside. Although the house is in a beautifully developed cul-de-sac with neighbors’ windows, doors and cameras seeing nearly everything, I felt an extra layer of protection was needed, if only for my own peace of mind. Since beau is a willing participant, I purchased these security poles in the 3-pack and we placed them at the front door, garage door and the back door. We both really love the sturdiness of the poles and the extra protection they give against the possibility of any unfriendlies thinking of crossing the thresholds. When you wedge the U-shaped end of the pole in just right under the doorknob and then kick the rubber foot inward to make the connection tight, you won’t be able to move the pole easily nor turn the doorknob (depending on the type). Along with the already existing name brand security company, I helped him upgrade his total home security with new door/window chimes/alarms, the lightbulb cameras in strategic locations, and the new dusk-to-dawn lightbulbs outside, (all purchased on Amazon) now I don’t have to feel uncomfortable being there alone at night any more. Bought this set for my daughter's first apartment (and extra peace of mind for me!). They were easy to assemble and although have not been tested (thankfully), they do seem sturdy enough to block passage into her apartment. Would recommend as an extra security measure and peace of mind.

My mother-in-law lives with us and she has recently admitted that she would use a chair to wedge under the front door handle when we would leave her and go on vacation or travel somewhere. Well upon learning about that, and seeing the damage to the floor caused by the chairs, I searched for a better alternative. These bars are not only easy to use but much more secure than a some random chair. Setup was easy, adjusting the bar to fit under the door handle is also easy and removing them when opening the doors is also a breeze. Now my mother-in-law is feeling more secure when she is to be home alone, whether it’s just for a short day or more. We even use one in the track of our sliding glass door. It’s also helped her with having any anxiety to be home alone. The quality is great and it is also well built with a thick rubber pad on the base. Because it adjusts so easily it can be used on a variety of door sizes.

These are advertised that they can be used on doors and windows, so I bought two sets: to use one on my door and each of my three windows. But they were way too big and bulky to use on my windows. And kinda too big and bulky for the door too. I guess if you have a McMansion with supersized everything, these might work for you. But they didn't work in my 80s apartment. It couldn't even fit on the windowsill, just too gigantic. I attempted to put one of them together and got frustrated with how hard it was. Not intuitive at all. Sent them back and the search continues for something more appropriate for my small space.
