Plantronics Explorer 80 Bluetooth Wireless Headset- Retail Packaging

Initial review - light weight, easy to put on, easy setup and very clear voice.I'm a long time Plantronics user and have tried all other Bluetooth headsets from the most expensive to the cheaper ones. My all-time favorite is the Plantronics M50, and I compare all others to this one. Plantronics discontinued the M50 and I'm running out of stock on the extras that I had purchased. So, it was time to search for a new replacement.The Plantronics Explorer 80 seems to have all the right features to be the new replacement. It's inexpensive, Unbelievable light weight, lighter than the M50, extremely easy to setup (paring took only a few seconds to iPhone 7 Plus), Slides on the extremely easy as well, and since the ear hook is light and thinner it fits very nice as well. All to top it all off, the voice prompts and communication is second to know.I'm impressive and have already order 3 additional ones as backup when I lose or break this one.

Finding a reliable bluetooth is difficult is difficult for me ... but ... this one is good ... simple with nice features ... it announces, "incoming call" one can opt not to receive it or click the command button to answer. I thought my previous Plantronics bluetooth "had given up the ghost" ... then discovered that as it has aged it requires more charges it's OK ...I'm keeping this one ... it's smaller than my PLT M50 purchased in 2014 [and I "luv"] ... this new one perhaps is better ... excellent voice quality, no one as complained they can't hear me, and it's comfortable to wear ... I tried a few others ... a Q-YEE Bluetooth headset and a Samnyte. Both of these were returned as they were DOA out of the box ... I've learned a valuable obvious lesson ... stick to brands I know ... it's worth the xtra $

After having the headset for several months now I have learned that it looses connection and often will not let me answer incoming calls. So I will have to give this a 3 star rating instead of the original 4. Not all that happy with it.Previous review: I have been trying numerous headsets over the last year. Bought this one because of the 11 hour talk time and it's a Plantronics. I had voyager and it finally died. I do hope it holds up to the 11hrs of talk time. So far the sound quality when on calls is very clear. It was pretty easy to pair with my iPhone XS. Fits in my ear fairly well. I do wish it had the ability to change earpieces to smaller or larger. But for now, I am happy with the product.

I liked this a lot better than I thought I would. Coming from the more expensive Plantronics 975, I thought this cheaper version wouldn't be as good. But it is just as good in every way, and better in some ways. It doesn't come with a charging box, but the battery life is so good, you don't need one. It has much simpler controls that I like a lot better and are a lot easier and more intuitive to use. It is just as loud, and has a good mic (even my hard-hearing father can hear me easily, even while driving with the windows down). And, it is half the price I am used to paying to get a good bluetooth. Great deal!

Like most of you, I've owned literally dozens of BT headsets. This is my new favorite. Call sound is incredibly clear and plenty loud. People at the other end don't know I'm on a headset. My prior favorite was the Jabra Stealth. But, this one blows it away in the important areas - call quality and battery life. I get a full 8 hours of talk time out of it. The Stealth originally offered 6, but it was really more like 5; and now that they're over a year old, that talk time on the Stealth is down to under 2 hrs.4 stars for a couple things - it doesn't support voice commands to the headset. You can't get a read on the battery life except when you turn it on, then a woman's voice tells you how many hours of talk time you have left. The PLTHub app on Android is supposed to have a battery meter; but it doesn't work on my Pixel XL running Android 8.1. There's an FAQ on the website that makes it look like the battery meter feature hasn't worked on Android since 4.1, but that was over 4 years ago!?

I have been through several blue tooth wireless earphone/microphone I have lost or broken several blue tooth earpieces over the years. This is by far the best value for the money. I had a Bose earpiece that broke and do not waste your money on a Bose as the sound quality difference is marginal at best. The battery life is fantastic at 11hrs and it keeps its charge phenomenally. This keeps is charge 4-8x better than any wireless earpiece I have ever had.

This one of the best bluetooth headset you can buy the battery last all day the sound quality is pretty good too. It's also comfortable I use it almost all day and my ears don't get red or feel sleep this is the second most comfortable bluetooth headset; Plantronics explorer 50 is the most comfortable I don't feel it on my ears, but the explorer 80 is better looking and smaller. The only thing i dislike about this headset is that isnt scratch resistant like the explorer 50. Just buy it.

This Amazon renewed/refurbished item was "Dead on Arrival, with battery 100% non-chargeable" I am a fan of Plantronics so I ordered this "renewed," as these models are off the market now. While I a HUGE fan of Amazon, I am VERY disappointed. It came dirty, with a human hair in the packaging, not clean, and after 18 hours of charging in 2 different outlets, the power line never came on and could not hold a 1% charge. Amazon provided a no charge return and full cash credit. Won't be using the "renewed" service again!
