Someone finally got this right! I see a lot of reviews complaining about the way that the wires are arranged, but that is HOW they work like fireflies, when other light strings can't. Most "firefly" lights (really should not call themselves that) have all their lights in a series, and just two wires that control alternating lights. So basically, whatever happens on one wire happens to all the lights on that wire. If you've got two wires, you've got two options. They can alternate on and off, they can speed up or slow down, they can achieve a sparkly effect or a slow off/on effect that alternates, but never the random effect of real fireflies.This set has each light on a separate wire, so each light can operate independently from the others. That's a game changer. Yes, it means you have a "branch" type of string structure. And yes, you get fewer lights in a bundle as a result. But the effect is SPOT ON.I set them up by strapping the bundle to the trunk of a small tree (so I didn't have to hold it while arranging all the lights) and then I ran each light strand up a random branch, wrapping it a bit along the length of the branch, and then let the light itself hang a few inches down from the branch. Some go further out on the branch because they are on longer strands, and some are closer to the trunk. Some are higher, some are lower. The dark green/black wires don't stand out during the day, so the whole arrangement is reasonably hidden. At night, the magic happens!I only experienced fireflies once in my life, during a brief stint living in Ohio. My husband, who is from Illinois, grew up with them. I always wanted to recapture the essence of fireflies here in California, but I was really having doubts. When he saw these lights around the tree that first night, he was impressed!There are lot of string lights out there that call themselves firefly lights, but should not. They can be fairy lights, or sparkly lights, or a lot of other names, but THESE are the only true firefly lights I have found, and the actual magic is in the worst feature of this set. If you want real firefly lights, you just have to get over the bundle/branches and make it work. You won't be disappointed!

Nice color, just what I was looking for. They do need to be in a dark area for best effect. I will update later on how well they oregon after a few rain storms.

These are perfect for a garden. For me the area did not receive much sun light so I went and wired it to our landscape lights through an AC to DC rectifier and then through a rheostat to step down the voltage to about 1.5 V. The effect is fantastic everyone loves them.

But they're too bright & the blinking isn't quite right. Still, I half hid them in the foliage around the hot tub & they kinda have a firefly effect. Worth the money.

Really the only option I’ve found that has a random fade in and out. Not blinking. You only get 9 lights but it’s worth it.

Bought a 2 pack end of April. Finally got them set up in my garden this week and one set works great, nice and bright and go off and on like it’s supposed to. The other set not so much but the seller sent me a new set and I am loving how bright they are every night.

Only regret is I should of ordered more.They work great all night until the morning on one charge

The media could not be loaded.  I moved from a state with fireflies to a state without, so these bring me joy! As someone else mentioned, these aren’t all on the same sequence/circuit, which makes their behavior much more enjoyable. They aren’t all lighting up at once. I’m thrilled with this purchase and added them to a frosted lantern.
