British Gas saw me coming!
Had a fault on my combi which BG repaired and said I needed a special magnetic filter/cleaner for around £500. I declined on the basis of the Central heating only being installed three years and the faulty heat exchange plates were covered. 9 months on and the same thing happened only this time BG would not effect the repair as I did not have their recommended Magnetic filter gizmo fitted. £487 later - you guessed it, they have fitted me with this unit and charged me a mint! Thing is when BG installed the CH system in the first place why didnt they fit one as standard? yep, so they could rob me some more! Well 10 more moths later and the heat exchanger is on the blink again. What do you trhink they will say this time? Just get your own aND FIT IT USING THE LOCAL PLUMBER FOR ABOUT HALF OF WHAT iVE PAID.
