High quality fan, great value. - No AU Plug & 110v
Only been using for a couple of days, however really great quality.I've got it on the lowest setting, and I can't hear it from 1 meter away. I can start to hear it just before you get to medium. In Australia, fans of this quality will cost you $150AUD plus, got this for $55AUD. Shit plastic one's cost more than this. Please note this comes with a US plug, and is only rated to 110v, so you'll need a step down converter. I already had one, you can buy a cheap one for $20 off ebay.

Short Circut on first use
I put it in the socket . It worked for 5 sec. Then it made a pop sound, something burned. Not sure this is the best .

Lacking torque. Otherwise very nice.
Very quiet. Controls are nice, good fit and finish. Motor lacks torque. For my application the motor isnt moving much air. When the fan is just sitting on the table it runs like a champ. Put some restriction in the air flow and the fan motor just doesn't have enough power to keep the fan blade speed up. I'm going to keep it but its not exactly what I was hoping for.

lack of torque -> certainly; false advertisement -> certainly; does it work? well kind of
I bought in total 5 of 8 inch fans and 2 4 inch fans. Overall, I stress on the word "overall", they do ok. 3 stars rating is as generous as I am willing to go. I want to confirm a few critical review points from other customers.1. lack of torque -> this is serious. Once you connect the fan to duct hoses, it's WEAK. e.g. I leave one side open and one side connected to 8 feet long 4 inch hose. the best air speed I get is roughly 5m/s, which is equivalent to roughly 100CMF, well below 400. Why? LACK OF TORQUE!! It's understandable that efficiency will drop due to size change in connections but from 400 to 100? no, firmly no.2. the fan blade is definitely smaller than the ads photo and also not the same. there are plenty of pictures posted already. I can positively confirm that. Why 3 stars then not 1? Well, I have also tried other inline fans within $40 price range. This one is the best I can find. It's not noisy once connected to the hose (of course it doesn't move much air either). Its outlook is nice and I don't hear common rattle sound either. but it does not move 428 CFM equivalent air, not even close. Will I buy it again? probably. But I must write this review to help future buyers realize that just because this product has 4+ rating, it doesn't mean it's gonna move so much air so well, etc etc etc.
