Great Kite, Great Price, Great Fun
VERY happy with this purchase. I'll be honest I was a tad bit hesitant about the quality of the product after reading the negative reviews but for $10 I took the chance, but I did also spend a bit more to buy a Prism Bora 2 at the same time to ensure my next kite outing would go well. I received the kite on Wednesday unpacked it and I will admit, the quality of the ripstop nylon isn't the best I've seen but it's a $10 good size kite what do you expect? The Kite came RTF (Ready to Fly) which is always nice, not a super long line but good enough. The instruction are pretty much worthless.. I do agree, but for the most part you don't need much instruction for flying this thing. The only advice I could give some one who is a complete newbie is to ensure the bridle (the string that is pre-tied to the kite) isn't knotted except for one knot at the end keeping all the strings together. My kite came with loose knots in the bridle line I'm assuming to make folding and packing the kite easier at the factory. Reading a number of the bad review I think this may have been something that others didn't do.I took this kite out for it's maiden voyage today (Sunday). We had about 10mph winds and I was in a fairly clear field, a favorite for many, for kite flying in my area. I unpacked the kite , let about about 50ft of line, had my 4 year old hold the kite while I walked the line out... counted to 3, gave it a little tug and straight up it went. It flew wonderfully, looked great, and my boys loved it. Couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.BTW for anyone who has read the bad reviews and may not be that familiar with kite flying, please don't listen to the folks who say "this kite needs some solid structure". These people don't know what they are talking about. The kite is a soft parafoil kite (similar concept to a parachute), these kites get their structure from the wind which essentially inflates the kite and gives it it's shape. In my experience these are some of the most stable, reliable, and easy to fly kites out there.

Be sure to use a swivel connector
Make sure your string has a spinner or "swivel" (as in fishing line swivel) connector so that the line doesn't coil and get twisted. The kite doesn't come with one on the line and handle which are included. The first time I flew this, it didn't fly as well as it could have because the coiling of the line tightened the bridle strings and kept if from being fully inflated. Swivels are cheap and can be bought anywhere fishing lines are sold.

Fantastic - With one problem.
A fantastic kite! This thing is so very easy to fly. Unlike other kites we tried, this one was super-simple.We bought a 500' string + spool Amazon item: https://amazon.com/dp/B00HFQDSWEPlus, a 1,000' string Amazon Item: https://amazon.com/dp/B01BDLFFXQRemoved the 500' sting and replaced with 1,000' (1,000' will fit on that spool). It didn't take long to get all 1,000' unraveled and have this kite super-high in the air! We called a family member from the park. They could see it from nearly a mile away.Fortunately, I had planned ahead. I had a power drill connected to the spool. Otherwise, it would have taken forever to bring the kite back to us.The only frustration with the kite is that all of the short strings that connect to the kite have a high propensity to get tangled (not when flying, but when removing or inserting into the storage bag). I found that if there is any tangle (making some strings effectively shorter due to the tangle), the kite will no longer fly correctly. :-(

My 5 yr old flies it often!
This is an awesome kite! Especially for the money. We live by the beach and fly kites a lot. I like this one so much because it is big enough to be seen. It is also super easy to fly and neglect (in a good way). We often tie it to our wagon or chair and leave it flying. This helps mark out place for us to come back to from water or friends to find us. It is also easy to fly and handle. This is my five year olds kite. He flies it regularly with minimal help from adult getting it in the air. The string actually don’t really tangle... very easy to de-tangle if needed.

We are delighted with it
Wow! We've flown the kite in a tight space with a light breeze and in an open spaces with a moderate wind. It performed superbly on every occasions. We are delighted with it. For added security we ended up looping a belt around Mr Three's waist and through the bobbin. The string was at it's full limit ("It's TOO FAR AWAY!!!") and the kite stayed happily in the air while he walked and jumped and kicked a football. The very first time one simply releases the ribbons from their tie and unloops the bunch of bridle strings. The kite string is tied to the bridle bunch and the kite is held in the air with the eyes and bridle strings facing down. Away she goes! We have decided that she is a jellyfish rather than an octopus though! There is a little protrusion in the middle of the handle that can be used to wrap the string around twice and so prevent the string unwinding to its full length

Great Kite For Kids
I bought this kite along with another (the black kite in the pic) for my 5 and 7yo grand-daughters to fly at the beach and they loved it! The squid kite was perfect for the 5yo, very light and easy to control, even for a younger child. The kite is sturdy, we landed it in the ocean one day and were able to pull it out and let it dry on the beach for a couple hours and fly it again. The kite comes in a reusable bag which is convenient and also comes with string. You do have to tie the string on (no clips on this one) but we just did a quick fishing-line knot and we were good to go The grandkids really enjoyed the kite flying experience (as did us adults one afternoon!) and would recommend this kite. Looking forward to flying it again next year!

Amazing, this is easier to get into the air ...
easiest kite to fly I've ever seen... No poles to mess about with it literally took off the moment we took it out of the bag. Amazing, this is easier to get into the air than a helium balloon. My 3 year old had no issues flying this and it made his day, well worth buying. The only (tiny) gripe was that the octopus lost a tentacle after about an hour in the air, so i guess its a septapus now...

We love this! Even though the length is stated
We love this! Even though the length is stated, its a lovely surprise at how long it really is. The supplied chord is really long so its a great thing to hover over the beach. It needs a fair bit of wind to keep aloft but is reasonably child friendly to fly. The material is good quality too, something we were worried about. Good ripstop type.

Handle broke
This is an easy to fly kite. We had bought it over a year ago but only gave it to our child as a present in couple of months ago. Him and his friends loved it. Unfortunately, by about the 10th time we took it out of the bag and wanted to use it, the handle just broke on one side. I had hoped it was longer lasting.

Amazing kite!
Super easy to fly and put away, we(12, 10, 8 and 5 year olds and parents) are thrilled with this massive kite. Highly recommended. We also got the dolphin and they make a great pair up in the sky.

Easy to fly, no hard frames.
Takes off easily, just unravel it against the wind and it will lift off, no frames so you can fly it even when there are people about ( it case it crashes), looks amazing too.
