poor format
The author continuously jumps back and forth between the two detectors. Although there are similarities, the differences are enough that they should be separated. As an ETrac owner, I found myself wasting a lot of time reading about the Explorer even though I was trying to avoid it. And as an Etrac owner I also felt too much focus was on the explorer. Perhaps the Etrac was thrown in as an afterthought. Aside from my dislike of the above, the book is informative but came up short in an area I wanted to learn more about. I don't view this book as an authoritative guide on the Etrac and wouldn't recommend it.

The Etrac Bible
I bought this book after a week of owning the Etrac. I think that this book will teach you 40% of the machine while the majority is actually detecting in the field. It all depends of you're a book-learner or a hands-on learner. I'm a hands-on person but this book still helped quite a bit. My favorite part about it is it gives recommendations on settings for each field like beach, civil war field, park, trashy areas, and a lot more. Excellent book but you could also go without it.

Etrac Guide
Invaluable book for new Minelab Etrac user. Too bad it's not much different from the CTX 3030. Or at least I think it isn't. Gotta read many times to understand the nuances of the Etrac.

Very well thought out book
I bought it because I skipped the Etrac and went straight to the CTX3030...and I was told this book would really fill in some gaps. It did. Very happy with it.

Man this is some reading for sure. It’s so technical it’s boring but has so much info. Need to read this a few times.

If you own a ETrac this book is a must. Informative and easy to follow directions on detector operation. Simplifies a sometimes confusing owners manual.

Nice book
Great book by Andy Sabisch. I have been using an Explorer XS for over 18 years now and it is a good machine.. This book showed me stuff I did not know. Now be aware that this book goes into more detail with the E-Track machine.
