My daughter and I both love jigsaws. Her four-year-old son has “helped” us recently, so I decided to get him some more advanced puzzles than those in his toy box. Having multiple puzzles in the box was a big win. He had a great time figuring out which he would do in what order. The puzzles had enough pieces to be an initial challenge for him, but not enough to cause frustration. When I stay with him, he plans out our activities, and always includes one of these jigsaws. Sometimes we each do a separate one and race. These are great for manual dexterity and logical thinking on several levels at the same time (picture, piece shape, etc.). A great price, too.

We have several brands of wooden puzzles for our toddler (Melissa & Doug and M&D dupes) and these are the thinnest in terms of depth of the whole puzzle. Because of this the pieces around the edge and the bordering wood warped and curl up a bit. Myself and my 3.5 yo find this frustrating when building. The designs are super cute, though, so if you have a less particular toddler they'd be a great buy.

My daughter was looking for rewards to use for potty-training her 3 yr old son. He is completely enamored with doing puzzles, but we have had to step up in difficulty to challenge him. He does 24-piece puzzles very fast now, so I bought these 60-piece puzzle. These are more difficult for him, but if we work together, he will stick with it and get them done. Definitely a good purchase for him.

This is a Christmas gift so I haven't opened it yet but I have no complaints so far. They arrived quick and safely packaged. I got these for a 3 yr old. I like that they have the picture on the edges and look to be sturdy.

The pictures are cute, but these puzzles are small and the trays and pieces are poor quality. The trays feel rather flimsy, as if they could snap in half easily. The pieces come out of the tray all stuck together and upon gently separating them, many of the pieces had slivers of wood that could easily hurt a little ones fingers. Spend a little more and get the better quality (and larger!) Melissa & Doug puzzles.
