Having grown up during the era of blaxpoitation films and music, I loved the funk jams of such great artists as Curtis Mayfield and the Staple Sisters. Once again, Amazon had my hookup with this compilation. Four discs with some of the best blaxploitation jams ever produced.

This cd has some good songs, but I probably would have been better off buying the few good songs separately.

This is a terrific 4-CD set of vintage soul music, mostly from the 1970s but also some tasty late 1960s stuff too. Soul fans will recognize some of the big names of the era, but what this set does so well is also dig deeper into the more obscure --- or at least less known --- music from this magical era too.One thing that struck me, reading the songwriting credits (tucked away inside where a booklet would normally go inside each CD) , was how many of these songs were written by greats such as Curtis Mayfield and Allen Toussaint. Genius stuff, all of it.If you are looking for an affordable (well, it should be budget priced!) set of great soul music, this one more than does the trick. Some great tunes await your ears!

Very very very good cool funk music

Was für eine akustische Wohltat verglichen mit den musikalischen Verbrechen von Leuten á la Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jay-Z und Konsorten, die heute als Black Music verkauft werden. Auf dieser Box wird gegroovt, was das Zeug hält. Egal ob soulig, funkig oder jazzig. DAS sollten sich die heutigen Kiddies mal zu Gehör führen. Kein autogetunter Plastikpop, sondern echte Musiker, die auch Spass an der Mucke haben und - genau das - Seele in die Musik bringen.
