63060 - G25SB-60 Globe Daylight Full Spectrum Light Bulb

We use these for natural full spectrum lighting in our bathroom. Would use them in every socket if it was not cost prohibitive. Definitely improves mood, just like sunshine!

Unfortunately, no light is emitted from the half of this bulb that is silver-coated. I did not realize this when purchasing these globe bulbs for a downward facing, over-the-vanity light fixture. As a result, no light falls on the basin/vanity (which is where it is needed). Rather, the light is projected to the sides. I still am unclear in what circumstances these bulbs would be useful. Additionally, one of the bulbs got very hot within a matter of minutes, despite that fact that the fixture is approved for up to 60W and the bulbs were not enclosed. I do like the Lumiram Chromalux bulbs because they produce a more natural, truer color light than the newer LED lights. These particular bulbs just aren't appropriate for down-ward facing fixtures. Will try to return if seller is amenable.
