Frankenstein lives again! A Halloween classic for all ages and both genders.
Fiendishly fantastic new Halloween book for boys and girls! I have two daughters (ages 4 and 2) that love Ludwig Bemelmans' "Madeline." Both are able to recognize the parody through Walton's well-crafted text, but it's Hale's lively (deadly?) and fun illustrations that bring the book to life in a way Dr. Frankenstein himself would be proud. They say the devil's in the details, and the use of clever wording like Miss Devel (in lieu of Miss Clavel) is no exception. Look for other hilarious details of the twelve monsters' individual personalities (i.e. the vampire biting the ostrich at the zoo). Whether or not you're familiar with the source material, I'd strongly recommend adding this to your Halloween book collection. In my opinion, it's the best of the many Halloween parodies out there (Goodnight Goon, The Runaway Mummy, etc).

My kid loves it.
My 4 1/2 year old loves this book. He asks a million questions. I think it is weird but he loves it.

Such a spooky and funny book!
This is THE BEST Halloween book! We love how it’s rhythm and rhyming is just like the Madeline and the funny and spooky story it tells. We have bought it for several of our friends as spooky fall gifts. Read it! There’s also a Christmas one which is daring as well( although we love this one better because Frankenstein fits better with Halloween).

A classic and favorite
This is one of our favorite books. It is so similar to the Madeline books with the rhyme and cadence. The illustrations are beautiful. It’s funny. My kids can recite it. It’s a great learning tool for work recognition too because there aren’t many words on each page. I have gifted it a few times as well.

A cute monster story
My preschooler loves all things monsters and this story was perfact for him, not to too scary but with plenty of monsters. The story reads a little funny because it mimicks madaline’s orginal appendix storyline but the more we read it the more we love it and the illustrations are adorable. I saw there is also a christmas frankenstien book, we will be getting that one too.

I'ts a hoot.
My 3 year old grandson loves the Madeline book that was his mom's. One day we came across this book at the library and we loved it. In fact we've checked and re-checked it out so many times I decided he should have his own copy. The art work and dialog are a perfect parody of Madeline. Anyone with sons knows how they love gross things and this fits the bill without being too gross or scary.

Charming Parody
I am not generally a fan of parodies...Frankenstein is an exception. This delightful Halloween story is a play on the beloved Madeleine stories by Ludwig Bemelmans. It is pitch perfect in every way, so pitch perfect, in fact, that you can probably predict the next line in the story if you are at all familiar with the Madeleine stories. We love the clever illustrations and the wording. This is not a scary Halloween story, making it perfect for little ones.
