PENGUIN Secret Service

Awful!
The main focus of this book is the main character's family life, which is not particularly interesting. The spy story takes second place.A lot of characters are introduced in the opening chapters without any detail that would help you to remember who is who. Partly because of this and partly because of how badly the story is written, I spent a lot of time re-reading sections or flicking back though pages to work out what was going on.I gave up after 60 pages.

A perfectly good steady read.
The book is about the British secret service with our heroine running the Russia desk out of Vauxhall. Quite good detailing of the family life of a spy with three children teenage angst plus a rather pathetic husband who may or may not be having an affair with a close friend. Presumably, such multitasking must be quite the norm for many powerful women in today's world. The action scenes are pretty much standard fare and are not as interesting as the central character herself. Having now bought the next in this series, it will be interesting to see how matters continue.

A Real Page Turner
An excellent book! Difficult to put down as I kept wanting to read ‘just one more chapter’ which, for me, is a sure sign that I’m enjoying a book. Looking forward to reading books 2 & 3 in the series.

Best book I’ve read in a long time
This book was a real page Turner, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in 36hrs, then went straight in to the follow up ‘double agent’ which is every bit as good. Full of intrigue, double guessing and sadness too. Ive Just discovered Tom Bradley’s novels having seen him being interviewed, books were ordered while he was being interviewed 😂 can’t wait to read all his previous novels now.

On the edge of my seat
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing right to the end. So much so that I never knew what was coming - especially the ending - not what I expected !! Im now awaiting the second book to arrive and cant wait. Exciting reading. Thoroughly recommend this novel.
